Title: Turn the radio off!!!!
Post by: Kadesh on October 26, 2007, 10:15:50 PM

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but I honestly didn't know where else to put it. I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping at night because I hear a TV/Radio playing. It's playing a rock song that I think I know, but I can't hear the words well enough to be sure. And when I raise my head to listen..... it's not there. Nothing. Nada. Just the sound of the fan running. I've had this experience other times as well. When I was a child I'd hear the TV really loud and get up, go downstairs, and ask my grandpa to turn it down... only to find out that there was no one awake. No TV on... no radio... not even a light. That's happened in three different houses we've lived in. And now it's happening in my house. 150 miles away. It takes me forever to fall asleep, and even then I don't sleep well. I'm tired and cranky the next day. I have a set of Najavo beads over my bed for other things, but this doesn't seem to stop the noise. So, what do I do?

If you have fillings in your teeth with any metal in them, you could actually be recieving a radio signal, it has been reported before. Barring that, it would most likely be supernatural in nature. Does it only happen at certain times of the day/night? Is it limited to one or two positions on the bed? Does it matter if someone is there next to you? Be more liberal with the amount of information please.

I don't have any fillings in my mouth, but I do have a thin metal wire cemented to my bottom teeth in the front. It's never happened in any place other than my bed. When I'm in the house, that is. And in this particular instance, it goes away when I raise my head. My b/f goes to bed before me, so I've haven't had a chance to see if it does it when he's not there. I believe it to be supernatural. Like I said, it's happened in other houses, but in this particular one, it's really been bothering me. Not just going away when I realize it's not really there. I actually thought it was his cell phone ringing, so I got up to look for it. Nothing... I even called his phone from my phone... nothing. (His was turned off.) Then when I laid back down, I could hear it again. It's the same song over and over too, but I can't tell what song. It's nagging at the back of my mind, because I know the song... but I can't quite remember. I think it's going to make me crazy sometimes. I haven't heard it since I first posted this thread though.... at least that's what I thought until last night. It was back. I'm getting pissy about it too. I'm about to tell whatever it is that if it want's to sing me to sleep, it needs to pick something more soothing or it needs to get bent.  :gun:

OK, here are some other interesting little facts about my recent "musical visitor." I can only hear the music out of my right ear... and only if my left is covered. (like against the pillow) I seriously think I'm crazy now. This is freaking nuts!!!

The music was back last night. I really think I'm going to have to just kick it's un-holy ass. I'm getting sick of this. I have some ideas... we'll see how they work. I'll put them to the test tomorrow night as it will take me a little while to get what I need. Wish me luck!

if i were you, i'd do this,....

buy a cd of mcr or cradle of filth or mudvayne, take it to your room then play it...then i'll turn up the volume full blast....

that should stop the music..... :-D

do you have any neighbors that may be playing music?

i realized the other morning in my bed when i'd lay on my right side, i could hear traffic, but raising my head would not...it doesn't puzzle me because we live with in site of the road,  but the bed was somehow magnifying the sound so that i could only hear it when i was laying down on my pillow.

it happens with my heartbeat occasionally to, i can hear it much louder laying on the pillow rather than when i'm not.

Acutally, the only noise I can hear from my neighbors is snoring. He is horrible! That's why I run the fan... background noise so I can't hear the snoring.

acoustics is something to look into though, when i play a radio in my room, my mom hears it coming from under the house, through her vent.

Hmmm... I guess it could be... it's not every night I hear it, but it does always seem to be the same song. Even though I can't really tell what it is.

Ok, had to wait and test this out in my house to be sure I wasn't hearing anything, but it happened in more than one spot and with more than one stereo. Apparently, any sound producing appliance in my bedroom is louder, and clearer, in the rest of the house than in my room. I don't understand how that can be, but it is. So,  Jordyn, you get the cookie for positing the most likely explanation here.
