If it were something wrong with your kidneys then one of those blood tests he ordered should have shown it.

Let me ask you something; do you have any night lights in your bedroom, or street lights that shine in the window, even indiresctly, or any other light source that you can see easily in the dark from your bed?

The reason why I ask is because medical research has shown that exposure to any light source, no matter how slight or dim, can impair the body's ability to produce melatonin; the hormone that induces and regulates sleep. Even slight exposure, such as from computer power indicator lights, is enough to disrupt this natural sleep cycle, and prolonged exposure can have serious effects on your health.

If any of this matches up to your situation, try turning out and blocking all light exposure after dark for a couple of weeks, maybe as long as a month, and see if that helps you get into a normal routine. Also, during this time you must avoid all stimulants like the plague, and not indulge in any video games or other excitements as they will cause your brain and body to release adrenalin and endorphins which will act as stimulants. Try reading a damn good book instead, maybe something by John Steinbeck, he's good for relaxing you fairly well.

This lead me to believe that he had run every conceivable test. Obviously I was mislead.

Kidney function tests are BUN/Creatinine which in animals are always run but for humans they aren't. Overtiredness may also be a Vitamin D or B deficiency which are also not standard on blood tests. Hormone imbalance is another possibility. Have him run a BUN/Creatinine, Hepatitis panel, Vitamin B & D level, T4 (thyroid test), Amylase level, & Lipase level.

Countess, isn't there a second, rarely run Thyroid test that usually spots problems that the T4 test misses? I remember hearing about it a long time ago, because it found my sister's problem, even though the T4 didn't. I just can't remember the name.
