Will the world end in 2012?
« on: August 31, 2009, 05:04:32 AM »
I have been reading a lot about the mayan calendar, and how the world will end in 2012.

Will the Yellowstone National Park volcano finally erupt....?

The North and South poles swap places every 750,000 years, causing us to lose our magnetic field that protects us from the sun!!

The particle accelerator that will apparently cause black holes (??).

But most important of all the Mayans!!
Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the Earth will end on December 21, 2012.
Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, could they really be right about the end of days??!!

Please don't post silly comments. I am only interested in peoples opinions.. Thank you and please enjoy.

I am very interested in the Mayan culture and their calendar, I believe that they had a beter idea of time and space than our own modern civillezation even with our satalites and telescopes, its uncany realy if you think about it.

I myself dont believe that their calendar came to an abrupt end on the date 2012 to mark an end, but a new begining, I could be wrong, but all we must do is wait and see. but who can stand the suspence.....acording to Nostrodomas the world will come to an end sometime betwean 2012 and 2060, and acording to some reading that I have done and a few documentarys that I have seen, he was prety much on the same page as the Mayans as far as the whole alinement of earth and the center of our Milkyway galaxy....

Im still not sure exactly what I think about all of this, but it is an interesting thing to think about.

and while Im here....welcome 2012 "the member, not the date" stick around and bring about new interesting threads, we B.S. and kid around alot, but we are smarter than we look....most of us anyway :-D   welcome.........next!!  we all probably have an idea or two about this.

Could you let me know some good websites for the whole nostrdamus thing. I have had a look at a couple myself and they all seem to take the p$$s..

I am very interested in the whole 2012 theory as i read a book called Messages aboout UFO's and the like, and even it that book the guy mentioned a big alien, UFO in 2012.

As y say we will have to wait and see!!

I've changed my mind countless times about 2012, but I think that if something happens, it won't be the end of the world like so many think... The Mayans said that December 21st 2012 was the end of a Baktun, meaning the end of an age... A Baktun is 400 Tuns, or 144000 days. After that, there's still the 14th Baktun and so on... There are specific predictions for the end of every Baktun, a later one being the next step in our evolution and an even alter one being humans becoming closer to the gods.

They did say, though, that the end of the world as we know it would kill many. But as long as there is life, the world's not ended.

I'll try to find the sources for the predictions and all...

PS: Don't believe that crap about the black holes caused by the LHC... There's no such thing, dark matter doesn't cause black holes and they know it. If it did, they would've killed us all a long time ago, this isn't the first Collider they've built... One little rumor and now boom, the whole world's in panic over nothing at all... All antimatter does is annihilate regular matter, releasing all of its and the other atom's energy. It would take about half the mass of a human being to destroy the Earth. (I did the math and if I met with an anti me and we completely annihilated each other, it would cause a nuclear explosion a little over twice the size of the planet...) And by the way, creating so much antimatter is almost impossible, it would take billions of years. (Precisely, it takes 2 billion years to create 1 gram of antihydrogen) And 1 gram of antihydrogen has 89875517873681.764 Joules, which is approximately 0.001 times the size of the bomb that went off in Hiroshima in WWII.

In short: 1. It would cause an explosion, not a black hole
               2. It would take billions (maybe trillions) of years to create enough antimatter in the LHC to destroy the planet.

No problem! I was bored one afternoon and thought I'd check out what would happen if an antimatter bomb of my mass blew up :-P

The North and South poles swap places every 750,000 years, causing us to lose our magnetic field that protects us from the sun!!

Yeh there are a few more ideas behind this one. Namely, solar flares are at max in the year 2012 and Wormwood is coming, said to be about the size of Jupiter but made of iron, a material that also interferes with magnetic fields. Maybe you should check out some of the other threads on this forum about 2012, there are quite a few and they're really interesting.

Posted this in Nina's thread but this is one of the major Wormwood theories:

The planets out to Neptune orbit the Sun in the flat “ecliptic plane”.  Pluto is offset a little bit so its orbital plane is at a slight angle to the ecliptic plane of the other planets.  Wormwood’s orbit is at 900 to the ecliptic plane… a very long ellipse with its perihelion arcing over the Sun and its aphelion way out in deep space on the Southern side of the ecliptic plane.  It heads out to deep space for 1800 years and then turns around and comes back toward the sun for the next 1800 years… 3600 years total (average).

It is approaching us now from the south side of the ecliptic plane.  It will move inward on its perihelion arc and come up through the solar system between the orbital circle of Jupiter and the outside of the asteroid belt.  It will cross the ecliptic plane next year… probably in April or May… possibly as late as June.  It will come up through the July midnight sky… when the Earth is facing the general direction of Sagittarius.  It will arc up over the Sun and come back down through the ecliptic plane again in the December midnight sky… facing Perseus… again between the asteroid belt and the orbital circle of Jupiter.  Then it will head back into the southern sky toward deep space for the next 3600 years.

It is so heavy that it can torque the lithosphere of the Earth right over on its side.  It can be extremely destructive depending on how close it is when it crosses the ecliptic plane.

Wormwood’s return was prophesied in the Revelation.  It corresponds to some of the events in chapter 6, 7, 8 and 16… inbound and outbound passes.

""And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of the waters; and the name of the star is called wormwood; and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter."

In the first quarter of 2001, the Sun switched magnetic poles. In 2012 these two poles will rotate again. The Sun operates on an 11-year cycle, alternating between active and quiet periods. We are currently in a quiet period, with few sunspots on the sun's surface and fewer solar flares, though the next cycle of activity has begun.

It is expected to peak around 2012, bringing lots of sunspots, flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). CMEs can interact with the Earth's magnetosphere, causing problems for satellites, communications, and power grids.

This upcoming active period now looks like it will be more intense than the previous one, which peaked around 2006, some scientists think. The reason is the changes in the sun's alignment.

During the last peak, solar fields hitting the Earth were first anti-aligned then aligned. Anti-aligned fields can energize particles, but in this case, the energy came before the particles themselves, which doesn't create much of a fuss in terms of geomagnetic storms and disruptions.

But the next cycle will see aligned, then anti-aligned fields, in theory amplifying the effects of the storms as they hit.

Now coupled with Wormwood affecting the magnetic polarity further and generally pulling everything out of allignment. It's predicted these solarflares will be even bigger and that this will drastically disturb things on Earth if not destroying the planet completely.

Wormwood, Ryobi? Isn't that Nibiru? Or that's what they called it two years ago from what I heard anyway...

Right yeh.

It's basically referred to by 3 names; Nibiru/Wormwood/Planet X...

wasn't that Planet X Sedna? Then, after officially discovering it, they renamed it and named Nibiru Planet X? I always thought Sedna was Planet X...
