I think Shadowling is on vacation right now. The "Shadow" forum only appeared after he went away.

Yeah he is away. I didnt ask for this position but I'm happy to take it, if Shadowling really wants it when he gets back I will be happy to hand it over. I know there is another thread for this but this is a more appropriate place.

Loki here are some sites.
http://www.angelfire.com/realm/shades/demons/djinns.htm
http://www.inter-islam.org/faith/jinn.html  That is an Islam site about the Djinn.

Rhuen from another forum said
Quote
Shade/Shadow man: Some believe it to be the third part of the soul the Ba, which is the shadow soul which gathers the emotional energy of the life time, after death it becomes a free entity comprising the aspects of the subconcious and emotional baggage of life.
However others say they are living beings "something seen world wide in some myths"
A third concept combines them both together, saying that both types of shadows exist, and in fact the "shadow" we see is caused by the being's ability to hide its true form
Some even claim they are the Seraphim or even the Seraphim amongst the fallen angels.

Some places suggest Djinns need to be summoned, which means they can't be the same as Shadows come to you for their own reasons. I think they are different but are often mistaken with each other but are evn more commonly mistaken for Ghosts. Also there are good and evil Djinns whereas Shadows are the same as humans and not evil in that sense. Supposedly "Good Djinns" will do what ever you want for you but Shadows have their own agenda and will only help you if you really need it (near death) or if it coinciedes with its own agenda. "Bad Djinns" also are said to possess you ASAP through your mouth or nose preferably, Shadows can do this but are reluctant to do so. "Bad Djinns also do things to you which are un-associated  with Shadows. So I believe that they are different but have some similarities.

Title: Q&A
Post by: Anonymous on October 15, 2005, 10:40:49 AM
Weird... I have a 12 letter name, but I'm always attracted to the number 13... in fact, it's my favorite number. Animals usually stray away from me, but cats "like" me even if I don't. I used to hear noises or voices when nobody was around and sometimes I even answered, making my family say "Who're you talking to? There's nobody there". I hate sunlight and I almost never think clearly during the day (I have no problem with thinking after nightfall, I'm pretty nocturnal :P) and I try to avoid sunlight if I can... Is it just me or... is it just me? Something's fishy goin' on methinks. I'm also highly empathic and can sense many supernatural "stuff" going on (ie. I feel the presence of some beings or whatever you want to call it). I'm always drawn to dark, creepy places and I love going into forests at night (and did so many times, never got hurt nor anything else, but I was so calm I never thought it's possible). Plus, I always felt that I'm different, I never knew in what way and I still don't, but the feeling never passed. Other people find me pretty strange as well.

And on a side note, I'm not making this up nor do I feel any need to do so. Since many of this "stuff" resembles (at least slightly) that what you wrote about shadows, I thought this forum is a good place to write it down. Believe it or not, but any suggestions/explanations/whatever would be welcome... It's hard to find people who understand nowadays...

PS. Sorry if it's not a good place to post it, I'm kinda new in this parts (prepares for Teh Flaming (tm) ;)).

It's a fine place to post it. Sound's like you have a case of the Shadow's!

The strange thing is... I never saw or felt any presence (that "ability" to sense some things usually sets off in that forest, I never felt anything outside of it) nor do I feel tired when mad or something like that. Don't shadows feed on energy? If they do, how come I never noticed? Is it even possible that I might be somehow "immune" or shielded?
Title: Q&A

It is possible. Shadow's aren't that blunt when they "feed" on people. The forest might not be quite what you think it is..

Post by: Anonymous on October 19, 2005, 07:29:28 AM
I never "saw" anything there tough, while others did... I only felt something and heard some things (not only I've heard it). And I know there's something at least weird going on there. I rarely go there tough (like once or twice a year) so I guess if shadows wanted to feed on me there, they would pretty much starve to death ;) Also, whenever in a dark or creepy place, I'm the one that's most calm from the whole group (if not alone)... I always have the weird feeling that darkness is a "friend" (weird, but it never did anything to prove this feeling wrong) and it won't hurt me, so I shouldn't be afraid. I never was and I really never got hurt.

It might be lies, but then again, I really feel like I'm somehow protected. (Maybe it's just nature... after all, don't hurt nature and it usually leaves you alone...)

I remember once, when walking in a forest with a friend, a pack of foxes/wolves/whatever came out of the bushes (around 20-30 meters away from us) and just stared at us, letting us pass (it was a long while, so if they wanted to attack, they had their chance... we were outnumbered anyway). There wasn't anything "odd" about them so I'm 100% positive those were animals. I call the situation odd, but I'm not an expert so maybe it's just what they do. We have some rabid foxes around here, but not many and I never met one (I dunno if those were rabid or not).

Also, I've read some stories of shadows choking people... I'd call it blunt feeding.

EDIT: Also, whenever I'm in that forest I feel strangely energized (the exact opposite of how you feel when you're being fed upon I think, not that I would know) and I'm actually feeling better than I was before. Not only once... it happens every time I go there.

Does this forest have a name or website about it? It is making me curios. I promise I will do my best to get to the bottom of this as long as you give me a bit of time and everything you know about the forest.
Title: Q&A
Post by: Anonymous on October 20, 2005, 10:27:02 AM
Nope, it's just a no-name forest. Well, all I can remember about that forest is:

There's always something strange going on. My friend often saw old women dressed all in black and hugging trees, looking at her. She saw some person (or not) that didn't seem to be human and there was awfully cold around him (she didn't go near, but it was cold). That could've been a person, or not... no way to know. There are absolutely no animals in that forest, I checked several times. There's a place where everything is just dead, trees, grass, everything. There's a hill where some SS soldier died (a highly ranked officer I think). The wind's blowing all the time on that hill, every time of day, even in spite of the weather (it can be even +30, but it still will be windy up there). There are some graves there (altough only a few, I've personally seen only two) and lots of dark places where even sun doesn't really want to shine through the vast amount of leaves. There are some satanists gathering somewhere there if I recall correctly, but I've never seen one of them. Also, there are a few crosses just sticking from the ground, no grave, just a big wooden cross.

Despite of how dangerous it seems, I never felt any danger there.

Hmmm There's something about that "forest" that I know there's something about it like from memory or something but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's on the tip of my tongue yet so far away.. Give me a day or two...

Zachodniopomorskie, or Pomorskie?
I take it, as you visited this forest often, you are Polish? I'd been hoping you were going to say it was near the Carpathian mountains, because that would have been so much more sinister! Even their name somehow sounds creepy.

Nope, not mountains. And yes, I'm Polish. I live not so far away that forest too, so I just won't tell you were it is exactly ;) (I'm distrustful, I know :P). It's in Pomorskie, if you want to use Polish names.

You'd think that with all those wars there would be a vast amount of ghosts around here...

EDIT: Does anyone else find it funny that "sinister" means "left" in Latin? :P

Funny thing... I've recently told my best friend about my experiences and about shadows and he started to wake up paralyzed every night. I don't know if it had anything to do with anything, but it's kinda weird it started right after I told him about it. I started to hear voices too (like a female voice in my head saying "I"... nothing more). It was always in the evening and always when I was lying in bed, lights out.

His sister on the other hand sometimes wakes up screaming because she saw something/someone (pretty clearly) approaching him several times and she screamed so loudly the whole house woke up... Once it was a "human" female I guess, but dragging one of her legs behind (zombie-style). Another time it was something small, climbing on his bed. She saw some of this things multiple times...

He, on the other hand (when he was little) saw himself standing in the room... he even shouted to "it", and "it" dissapeared (he wasn't dreaming).

Very interesting, do you think you could get your friend on here to describe it better?
Title: Q&A
Post by: Anonymous on October 30, 2005, 12:33:53 AM
Nope, he doesn't have an internet connection. Ask some questions if you want and I'll either answer them myself or ask him (we share quite a lot, so I probably know a few answers).

Anyway, have you thought of anything concerning that forest yet?

While this thread is quite old, perhaps the Guest will still see it, if not, then oh well.

What your friend may be experiencing is acutally quite common but not always acknowledged.  It is called sleep paralysis, often when someone is sleeping they may awaken and feel unable to move or speak.  As unexpected immobility would be frightening in any situation, it can be particularly alarming upon waking.

I myself have suffered from this as is what lead me to research the condition.  I awoke in my bed laying on my side unable to move at all, then I heard the shuffling of feet on my carpet around my bed, followed by a shadowy black figure shaking his head and arms in stiff, jerky movements "walking" in front of my view and stayed there.  Being fully awake but helplessly paralyzed, I began to panic as the dark shape continued to shuffle from one side of my bed to the other, all the while I heard the sound of as if air being displaced by something traveling very quickly through it (rushing sound).  Finally, with an extreme effort I screamed at the top of my lungs and instantly was unfrozen, sat up and turned on the light.  Of course there was nothing there, but was still I was plenty shook up.  Since then, I have felt slight paralyzation upon waking, but thankfully, no more hallucinations.

The reason this happens is that brain activity wakes the sleeper, however, the body has not yet had the opputuntity to awaken, thus the sleeper's body feels helplessly limp or unmoveable, and it often takes great effort to wake up the body.  Most of the time the sleeper is very stressed or anxious about something in their waking life.  Additionally, it is not uncommon to hallucinate while this occurs.  Distorted images of a person or people accompanied with the sounds of rushing air or humming are among the most experienced.  Now it may seem that I am simply finding scientific excuses for my single account (as I have always been very science minded) but in my research of the topic, I again and again found people reporting the same symptoms and have even found medical documentation with more indepth details of reasons behind the causes for it and less common accompanying symptoms.

It's actually quite interesting, I would provide a link but no longer have an links to sites with information about it, but its not so hard to find if you look.
