I've just finished reading "The Regulators" by Richard Bachman and thought it really was a Stephan King without conscience.
Currently reading "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown, VERY similar plot-style to The Da Vinci Code so far.
Afterwords I'm planning to read Stephan King's "The Colorado Kid" or any other of his I haven't read yet.
And you?

Nice too, my cousin has his whole collection in Portuguese and never had the time to read the whole thing...
-
Coelho rules, definitely
-
Hey Nina,
if you like Coelho try Ben Okri 'Astonishing the Gods'. Probably the most beautiful book I've ever read.

Asimov's 'wrinkle in time' series

"From a Buick 8" by Stephan King and finishing "Violin" by Anne Rice, I should stop reading two books at once, it's addictive. *<:)

-
Brother Odd...look it up its an unusual read
-
Brother Odd? It must be very odd indeed. I'm gonna look it up, though, sounds interesting.
-
Im actually reading 2 books currently. The first is called "Strong Fathers,Strong Daughters" I have a 4yr old & it was a Fathers Day gift from my mom.The 2nd is called "The Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan.I consider it the best book i've read to support my personal atheistic view towards religion & the topics discussed here but it also includes just enough empathy or even a bit of longing for the supernatural if you will.
-
Thomas Covenant trilogy... book 2........ well... I will be when I pick it up this afternoon. :-D
-
Augh, what a pain.
I have to read three books for school this summer. And I have to report on each. Once I find out what books those are I'll post the names. They are completely irrelevant to any interesting topics I'm sure. But I think one of the books is called, "The Life of Pi." I know not the story line though. x_X
-
Monstrous forum? That counts?
-
It sure does, Nina. :-D .......... I'm reading another trashy romance novel... I have a serious book I want to read, but I just don't feel like being serious.
-
Henry Rider Haggard "SHE- A history od adventure"

"Monster" by Jonhathan Kellerman and Anton Szandor LaVey's Satanic Bible, out of pure curiosity. :-D

OOOHH.. you mean you have a collection at the house? I meant like a local library... I have one here, but I see to owe them $100,000 and a left nut... so I won't be going there anytime soon.

A collection of Gothic short stories from 18th,19th, 20th century. (wordsworth classics) interesting to compare the different styles of writing that are as fear invoking today as they probably were when first penned.
-
I love "old" stuff like that!!! Cuz it is true terror, not just gore. Anybody else love the old black & white Twilight shows?
-

Hysterical Blondness
By; suzanne macpherson
This girl named Patricia starts a diet pill. She wakes up one morning with blond hair instead of her brunette hair. She hates blonds. So far I haven't read to that part yet. I just read the back and to pg.48.
just finished it. so good, and so romantic. Patricia almost marries the wrong guy, but she found her groom doing his ex-gf on the wedding day

I'm currently not reading anything now but I was bored so I'm gonna put some of my favorite things.
First:
Garth Nix, I gotta admit, this guy's good, I've read all the books in his keys to the kingdom books, most of them twice, great, I've read shade's childern, really good as well, bit mature then it needs to be and too morally but still great. I haven't read the trilogy he's famous for 'cause the covers look stupid and I hate it when they try and get you to read something because of the writer and not the substance of the book but I might make an exception to this.
Second:
The midnighter's trilogy, I won't give a summary or anything but EVERYBODY on this site would enjoy it. If I remeber correctly the guy that wrote this is the same writer for the uglies/pretties/extras series (which I HAVEN'T read yet because as stated before I judge on books not writers) I also read a short story of his in a science fiction collection that involved vampires, which I think is cheating, but it was still good.
Tetarily(not sure about the spelling but it means thirdly): A Conneticut Yankee in King Arthur's court by Mark Twain, while not as famous as his other stories it is, as far as I'm care, the best of his stories, the plot is just what the title suggests and it's a really, REALLY good book, my only problem with it is that it ends too late, yes too late, he ruins a perfectly good story by explaining how the main character got back to the present and why there's no evidence of his time travels despite NEVER EXPLAINING HOW HE WENT BACK IN TIME IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! And thus turning an otherwise happy ending into a sad one, my suggestion: when you get to the chapter titled Two Years Later, stop reading, ending it there, be happy with a perfectly good happy ending.
Ugh, this said I should probbably do those book reports (not that I will)
