Title: Witches Cabinet--ANNIE STYLE
Post by: Anaya on July 25, 2011, 09:40:15 PM
Ok, so I made a video showing it off, but I figured I would type up what I want to do with it while I waited for the video to upload. I welcome suggestions for what I should do or answers to what I am not sure of 'how to' (such as lock it).

The actual measurements are: [in inches] outside (25x20.5x11.25) inside (17x17x11)
Made of: Wood with iron handles and hinges save for the back which is cardboard that I cut and attached with a staple gun.

I wish to gather the basic herbs for magical practice (protection, power enhancement, summoning, and banishing if they will fit) as well as multiple cloth spreads for alters and rituals (like seals that I can unroll to use). I would like to find a way to sort miniature taper or tea candles of multiple colors (if nothing more than white and black, then so be it) also books of research and reference on the arts or just personal journals of my adventures alive and dead (dun be judging me on the dead part). I also want it to look and feel more... loved? Like it means as much to me as it does to be prepare. Perhaps even add starter kits for people who wish to know the beyond. It would hurt if I could find a way to add in 'ghost hunter' gear as well; like audio recorders and cameras.

I had thought about painting the inside to match my Protection Box (thread found here: http://www.monstrous.com/forum/index.php?topic=11187.0 (http://www.monstrous.com/forum/index.php?topic=11187.0) ) but just the inside. I also have debated on placing seals on the doors and on the back wall if for nothing else but to keep the contents from being tampered with.

And the upload is basically done. With that, i leave you with the video from the tiredness that is me--ish. I posted the link while it was processing so yeah... if it doesn't work, give it a bit. If it still doesn't, let me know.

Also, it was inspired by my friend doing this first :)

Great idea. I was wondering where I would put my "collection" (which is in progress, due to being a beginner).

SKGS: Thanks :)
Ninja: Thanks but Gypsy (the cat) is a little stinker! D: She's spoiled rotten and the only time she gets in trouble is when she plays too much or tries to get on the kitchen counters or the table when we are eating. Everything else, we're like the part where I attacked her and she tried to play with me. I did find out she was only doing that cause she wanted to go to bed. She is very bossy :o

this was amazingly interesting oO I'm not into witchcraft and such (I believe in it, but I don't practice it, I'm too scared of that law of 3 thingy... and I'm pretty sure I might abuse magic if I knew magic without knowing I was abusing it...
Anyway I didn't know a lot of these things had such impact for witches Oo I knew about salt and runes and such, but saly? that's new to me, among other things... once again, very interesting and the voice was sweet^^ so that does make it worth my while to watch :p
anyway I'm interested in seeing more like this^^

I actually debated making products such as the protection box and cabinet sets to try to sell online but it would cost a bit to start and I know business would be... wonky lol.

Oo I knew about salt and runes and such, but saly?

Saly? You mean Parsley? If so, it's the most common herb that I use lol :3

Ninja: :) Yup. Today she has decided it was a good idea to attack my fingers as I type... :/ I'm like: gee thanks Gyps

Anaya, yea that ^^ what do you use it for?

It's used for love, protection, and purification. Normally, I would use it in a protection pouch or I burn it (or attempt to) in my tea candles to protect the flame and those who are in it's light (normally I have salt in it too) or to protect the spell from tampering. To be honest, I use parsley in most of the foods I cook so I always have extra for whatever may come to mind :)

nice, I haven't really looked into this because I'm bad at remembering stuff like this, but I tend to make shields myself, but then again, I do not use magic so I guess I don't really need it, though this topic is starting to get my interest :)

Lex: I'm glad it is interesting you! :)

Ninja: I don't exactly make them. In fact, the taper candle was made by my friend and was part of a winter solstice gift. She tied sage to it and when I started to set up the cabinet, I noticed the sage had molded so I tossed the sage aside. The rune candle was also based on what she did and I just loved how it turned out.  But, I can make a topic about my methods when I make candles--I might even extend it to blessed ribbons and such. :D So I will start making notes for said thread tonight.

Okay, for one your pretty kitty reminds me of my calico Lucky :) So cute, yet evil somehow...  <^>

Second... Omg that is a great idea!  I need a place for all of my equipment and I really like what you did.  Once everything settles down around here I may do that :)

hey anaya would you mind sharing how u use theose marbles for binding?
Title: Re: Witches Cabinet--ANNIE STYLE

I don't see why not. Warning, though, mine uses blood.

My materials are salt, lancet (for pricking the finger safely), tea candle, marble, and of course a material to light the candle with. Plate is optional if you want a mess or not (I normally use one).

I place a tea candle in the center of the plate and then make a ring of salt around it, saying that only those I invite to this flame may enter and only those with permission may leave. I then light the candle and place three drops of blood in the wax. When the blood is within melted wax (whether you place it in from the get go or on the edge), I take the marble and hold it so the light from the flame is cast upon the marble surface. I then call to the spirit, and invite it to the flame, using my blood to make it a stronger summoning into the salt circle and slowly draw it's energy into the marble. Once I feel the presence within the marble, I place a single drop of blood on the marble, sprinkle some salt on it, then say something along the lines of 'with my blood, I bind you here'. I then use the marble to put out the candle and sealing the deal with wax. I place the marble in a protective ribbon or bag to insure the seal can't be broken. If I so choose it, I can slowly destroy the energy within the marble until it is gone. or I can lock it for eternity within it's new glossy home.

I normally will let a person verify that there is indeed a presence within by letting them feel then neutral marble and then the bound marble.

EDIT:
I was taught that blood worked like raw energy, and that wording is very specific when it came to blood
like if you said something vague like "I bind you." to what? Blood is the strongest so it binds you to you; but if you say 'I bind you to the marble.' then it will bind to the marble with no limitations
Like dealing with mythological fairies xD "I bind you to the marble, and only to the marble, where you can deal no harm or speak and never leave unless I say so."
^ the more defined the 'order', the less likely for it to go wrong (this was how I was taught so I don't know what's right or wrong)

Anaya,
what do you use the cup for? What all can you put into it?

The chalices are made of silver and I normally would put salt and an object in there to purify it or neutralize the charge--such as prep work for marbles. Also, should I make a 'potion' or something of the like, it's handy to drink from it and they are cute <3.

The jar is going to work like a caldron of sorts for mixing ingredients that won't fit in the chalices :3

@ Anaya:
You do realize that when summoning/binding the spirit using your blood, you also binds yourself to the marble/spirit?

Perhaps I worded it wrong, but the blood is used as an enhancer for the seal and the summoning. If it has ever bound me to the spirit, I have never felt it or had ill effects that came after--that might be luck though.

Also why I warn that mine uses blood and warn people if they follow it exactly as I write it that it is at their own risk.

If the facts are straight, I don't mind. Disclaimer posted as well. If LG is right about the binding thing, then it probably wouldn't be very good to share. But like I said, I never noticed anything like being bound to the spirit/or marble before.

I edited the post with the ritual/method :3 If it is posted, that tidbit needs to be added along with big bold letters that say:

"DISCLAIMER: WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS SHOULD YOU ATTEMPT THIS. YOU ACT AND REACT AT YOUR OWN RISK AND OF YOUR OWN DIGRESSION."

Or a modified version from LG's Disclaimer for the board:
A warning to all: You are at all times responsible for your own action. To follow any instructions given will be done at your own risk. Spells, rituals, and potions are NOT to be considered harmless and should not be used by an unexperienced person. This is even more true about information found on sites given in links. Even the most simple spell or ritual can backfire if a detail is done wrongly, any potion can become harmful if the wrong ingredient is added.

About your cabinet. Did you put a back on in yet and have you painted it (symbols)?

There is a back on it but I haven't painted it cause I was getting materials for a shelf and wanted everything construction-wise to be done before I did any paint work. THOUGH I do plan to raid my seals notes and make use of any that I can :3 I will post the seals later <3
