Hi Friends,
I've been trying to come up with a topic for this forum, to get some interesting diaglog going.
How about this question: where does the power come from when a witch casts a spell?
I used to do this, and I know spells work. How?

Where does it come from, I have read many books and topics on this and have never had any success at all.
Most people I know that claim to be, have shown me nothing tp prove they are
I would like to know how to do this for good

I went to a fleetwood mac concert quite a few years back (ok a lot of years) :oops:
It was when their album "Tango in the Night" came out 8-)

I would venture that a spell is powered by nothing. (man this sounds corny) Demonic forces who are listening to the requests of spell casters do everything in their power to make something harmful happen OR there is no real effect just one precieved by the caster and reciepient and God considers it a sin because you are relyong on something other than Him to provide for your needs.
I am heavily leaning towards the latter rather than the former.
Anyone else?

Where does the power come from?
Your own life force or in the case of sacrifices other beings.

I often draw power from elements. Earth and Fire, mostly, though depending on what I'm doing I may also use Air and Water. A storm is a wonderful source, but unpredictable for timing.
Otherwise it comes from myself. When I do weather-work I have trouble using elements, maybe because I'm affecting them more directly.

I believe that years and years of peoples worship builds and builds in the world and can be tapped for power.

I hope not because there are some very evil and corrupt organizations who have been doing rituals and having meetings for 100's of years in order to keep the population ignorant and blind to their deception and murder...
I think prayer does work, but i'd rather believe that it only works when it's used for positive influences...

Has never shown preferance before cant see why it would now. A lightening bolt will as readily kill a good person as a bad.

Maybe some of us arent as sensative to energies as I am, but when I went to church with my aunt and uncle the energies in the room were emense. All that has to go somewhere, so I figure there has to be a collective in the names of the diffrent Gods of the world.

anywhere people seriously worship, practice and believe would have emmense amounts of energy, i attribute it moreso to the personal creation of the energy...but people get to name it as they, desire.

The power of any spell comes from one's mind. The rituals, the words, the effects- they all simply serve to boost the belief factor of the caster. The human mind is the most complex organism on earth, and its limits are difficult to discern. The rules of our reality are dictated by the human mind, so why not spells also?

it depends on the type of magic i believe that folk magic spells and rituals either use energy from the caster or a speciffically powerful place or item were as deity magic and ceremonies in wich you invoke the gods you use a portion of there power
