Title: Hand Made vs Replicated
Post by: Arcane Artifice on June 18, 2010, 11:26:35 PM
In this topic I present the concept of a medium (as discussed before in another thread "Sealed spells") in the form of a card. While this may seem silly I view it as one of more "Portable" ways to carry and house the Eidolon form or the energy of any spiritual or physical being. My question is which is better "Hand made" or "Replicated" in this case I mean hand made cards or cards that are copied from a "Master" card (or a hand made). I see this in a variety of pros and cons but I'd like the opinion(s) of others.

Pros of hand made:
A deeper connection to the card itself allowing for easier channeling
Cons:
Very tedious to draw a summoning circle and seal on every single card without making a mistake.
Making cards the exact same height and width can be tedious

Pros of replicated:
Readily available cards whenever they are needed
Cons:
Lack of connection to the cards seeing as the Master card would have all the energy and a replicated card would only have a small percentage. This would cause problems in the summoning.

What do you all think? If you all can also guide me to ways of making replicating a "master" without weakening the original power supply it would be much appreciated.

i personally have used something around the same ideal and i have found thast most times hand made seals on cards are the best but if making mass amounts at one time or printing them i usually consecrate each one individually a sort of test run/activation ritual relatingto the purpose of the seal on the card so that they all carry there individual power not just a portal to draw energy away from the original seal.
