Just to see if anything happens, the best enemy is the one not seen and what would be the chances some lingering history still resides somewhere in my subconscious?
Would it be a psychological bandaid used to excuse and within the confines of my brain overcome or would it be a genuine spiritual experience to experience?
i think it'd be an interesting thing to see what would happen, take a slightly repressed but generally happy go lucky person and treat them like some linda blair monster hissing obscenities and throwing people across the room.
Better than trying death to see what happens after the fact. ;)

Chances are nothing would happen. However, this did remind me of a story my Dad once told me from his youth!
He was only 13 or 14 at the time, and he and some friends were searching the school library for a big book to play 'nut cracker' with. (For those who didn't enjoy a slightly wayward youth, nut cracker is basically just smashing someone over the head with a big book.) Eventually they found a large book full of weird religious rituals, including the one for an exorcism. Why a school would have this beats me, but I guess if it used to be an old Catholic school then there may have been a few relics hanging around. Or maybe a vigilante, demon hunting priest was using his librarian job as a cover for his secret war against the forces of evil. As much as it amuses me to think that my Dad had a Giles-like librarian at his school, I fear the former may be closer to the truth.
Anyway, for a laugh one boy decided to perform an exorcism on my Dad. A few days later, young Dad fell very ill (he didn't remember what with, but he was mostly bed ridden) and wasn't able to go to school. The friend who performed the ritual decided to go visit him and got hit by a car on the way to his house. He survived and recovered fully. No harm, no foul, right God?
So, was this all just a coincidence? Uh, yeah, sanity would suggest so. Still, it's a pretty cool story.

Nice story. I like the idea of a school library carrying The Rituale Romanum V.2 and its own Giles.
As for Jordyn, probably nothing. It would be an experience just to see what people went through in days past when mental illness was seen as possession.

It could be an interesting expirement, try several different types of exorcisms on a spiritually stable person and see which one has the most affect?
how many different exorcisms are out there, not all are romaized or even associated with christian derived dogma?
now i just need to find a rogue priest< several witch doctors, a few hindu monks, several other spiritual leaders from different faiths and a couple of scientific observers to gather together, place their faith on the table and take their turns, unfortunately it"s not likely in this area, maybe i should cut down on the satanic story movies on netflix and check out Louisiana?

Ah, yes, a good ol' exorcism, God working His mysteries to deliver us from evil...
An evangelical pastor and his sister have been arrested by police after they purportedly killed a sibling during a bathtub exorcism, officials said.
The suspects, Carlos Uriona and Adelaida Marca, were arrested after they allegedly drowned their sister during the ritual. "The suspects confessed that their 18-year-old sister was possessed by the demon and they wanted to purify her and christen her in a bathtub, but it went too far."
The young woman drowned.
Police found the victim's body inside a store owned by the pastor.
The pastor told investigators that he felt an evil presence when he submerged his sister in the tub. "An evil spirit entered me, took control of my hand and began to submerge my little sister..."
A 31-year-old woman from Fort Wayne, Ind., was found guilty last week for the slaying of her two-year-old son in a ritual to drive out demons.
Latisha Lawson and another woman believed that their four children were possessed and forced them to ingest a mixture of vinegar and olive oil. The children vomited, but the women prevented Latisha’s son Jezaih from regurgitating the liquid until he stopped breathing, police reported. Lawson kept Jezaih’s body in a plastic bag for almost a year, believing that he would be resurrected. "I went in and just asked God to bring him back. He did it in the Bible. He did it with Lazarus. He did it with a child in the Bible."
Lawson testified to the jury that she had fed the concoction to Jezaih in order to drive out a demon she called “Marzon.” Under cross examination, she admitted to placing a hand over Jezaih’s mouth but said she did not intend to harm him. She told jurors that she was convinced her son was possessed because she had no love for God during her pregnancy.
A priest and four nuns have been jailed for conducting an exorcism that led to the death of a nun who he believed was possessed by devils. Irina Cornici, 23, died after being crucified at a secluded convent.
The 23-year-old nun, who was denied food and drink throughout her ordeal, had been tied and chained to the cross and a towel pushed into her mouth to smother any sounds. The young woman had arrived at the remote convent three months before, having initially gone there to visit a friend and opted to stay. She suffered from schizophrenia and the symptoms of her condition caused the priest at the convent and other nuns to believe she was possessed by the devil.
The priest was unrepentant.
"God has performed a miracle for her, finally Irina is delivered from evil."
A 13-year-old girl suffocated after she was strapped down and doused with water by her father and a monk who were trying to expel an "evil spirit." They allegedly strapped the victim to a chair with belts and doused her face with water. She was confirmed dead early the next day when her mother called an ambulance after the girl fell unconscious. Reports said the girl's parents had turned to the monk after the youngster had suffered several years of mental and physical ill health that doctors had not been able to resolve.

A twenty-year old Lake Cherokee, Texas woman has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for her role in the gruesome assault and beating death of her thirteen-month old daughter. Jesseca Carson was found guilty of capital murder in a unanimous jury decision relating to the death of her daughter, Amora. Carson's boyfriend, Blaine Milam, is on death row for beating Amora to death with a hammer in what he claimed to be an exorcism. While it was Milam who actually beat the infant to death, Carson was conicted for aiding and abetting the crime.
It remains unclear what had led Carson and Milam to decide that Amora was possessed and their "exorcism" involved repeatedly striking the infant with a hammer and other tools. There were also repeated bite marks on Amora's body which had been reportedly inflicted while Milam "screamed Jesus' name" to drive out the demons. After Amora was dead, Carson and Milam left the body on their bedroom floor while they went to a pawn shop to raise money for a professional exorcist. According to one police source, "the child had been beaten so much we couldn’t tell how many times she had been hit. And then she had more than 20 bite marks on her body." Carson maintained that the exorcism had been necessary.

...okay, so no bathtub exorcisms, no salad dressing injesting, eat before the rite and keep the whips and gags where they belong...check! ;)
i haven't seen any of those techniques in movies, i'm more curious about the roman rite though and curious how other cultures exorcise their demons, and then there are those like scott peck who just pray and have non physical interventions. However your examples bring, "curiousity killed the cat." to mind. Being a leo i suppose i have some room for concern, satisfaction did bring it back. Considering my history, maybe it's just a bad idea?!?! :P
