Try to not use shorthand writing. Elves are a interesting subject, try looking it up and read about Iceland's lore on it.

My mother's family is from Mexico too, and we certainly have some elf stories too.  Elves and gnomes are called "duendes" there, and there is a Youtube video floating around with a supposed duende in Argentina or something.  If you do a search, even for fairies on there, you'll probably find it.

One day when its not so late at night I'll share my Mexican duende stories too.

I'll come back, maybe this weekend and tell the story.  I'm exhausted because aside from my regular job, I'm working on two different conjure (primarily rootwork or natural magic) cases for people, and it takes up a lot of energy.  I try and draw energy from the universe, but its still tiring for your mind because it requires a lot of mental focus and intention to work properly.

OK, so here is the Mexican Elf story:

Of course, this happened before I was incarnated into the body I now inhabit, so of course I cannot verify whether or not these things did or did not happen.

First off, my mother was one of ten children who lived with their parents in a huge, old house in Jalapa, Mexico.  Jalapa is the capital city of Veracruz, and its on top of a mountain about an hour's drive from the coast or so.  Mexico is a very mystical, supernatural place.  I don't know if the people there are close to nature, or if perhaps a rich history of cultures which incorporated magic into their religious life has left a supernatural mark on the place.  The country is primarily Catholic, which is very mystical in itself, and the occult is part of Catholic culture.  There are also many people in Mexico who worship in the cult of Santa Muerte, or "Saint Death" who was originally an Aztec diety.

(By the way, don't invoke or petition Santa Muerte for her help if you have ever cheated on anyone because she HATES adulterors.  She is usually called upon by scorned women to go after cheating husbands...)

Anyway, so the elves.  In one instance, my aunts who shared a room said they would wake up in the middle of the night and see these little guys swinging from the curtains.  They were being mischevious, and playing with each other but not really paying any attention nor cared that there were people in the room.  I think they were dark elves because they gave my aunts an 'icky' feeling.  My aunts who saw them are grown up now in their forties and they still believe to this day that they saw them.  I am apt to believe because how would two people hallucinate the exact same thing??

Another instance they sited was in the garden.  They saw little elves and/or gnomes, or something to that effect.  They said there were two races it seemed and they were holding hands and dancing in a circle.  One of the races was a little bit bigger and had the cone hats, which is why I thought gnomes, but I'm sure they weren't the same gnomes you find in Scandinavia, that's just what comes to mind.

My grandmother also saw the elves dancing around in a circle.  This was in her bedroom.  She woke up in the middle of the night, much like my aunts (her daughters) and she saw the little elves holding hands and dancing in a circle, but what really was weird was that they were dancing and holding hands like ring around the rosies, but half the circle was behind the partition of a wall.  So if you can imagine seeing the elves dance for half the circle and disappear through the wall into the other room and reappear as the come back through again on the other side.  Does this make any sense?

I have never seen any elves, but I was in that house and saw a very dark entity, which appeared to me, much like the story oni described, as I was taking a bath.  It was demonic as they had the house exorcised after that, but I was only 8 years old at the time and unlike Oni, I screamed bloody murder!  Even though the house was blessed and exorcised, then warded with consecrated salt and water sprinkles, it didn't hold up for long because the house has a very dark, oppressive energy.  The family is divided due to greed over my grandfather's inheritance after he died, and most of them hate each other and don't talk anymore.  My uncle who ended up inheriting the house was greedy and kicked out his younger sisters who still lived there, as in Mexico its not unusual for children to live with their parents until they get married.  My uncle ended up dying late last year under really shady circumstances, it really seems like his wife (who is a doctor and has access to medicines and poisons) may have killed him slowly by poisoning to get to the inheritance.  Unfortunately, its very difficult to prove those kinds of cases, but the hospital who performed the autopsy wanted to do an investigation because they were suspicious when she told them she insisted on NOT having an investigation done...that's a whole other story though, but the point is, the house is just oppressive in general.

If you have something like that happen, you aren't going to get lasting results, even after an exorcism unless you reinforce your wards.  Because of my magic, I'm open to random attack by anyone who thinks its funny to put random curses on you for no reason, so I do a complete house blessing once a month and make a consecrated salt barrier around my property.  I also keep iron railroad spikes in the ground on all four corners of my property, which is another helpful ward in case anyone wants to try something else.  You cross the spikes (you can use ten penny nails) and dig them in the earth at each corner, but lay them crossed over each other so the pointy ends are pointing AWAY from you.

So I don't know if there were elves on the property in Mexico or just evil spirits.  I've been reading more on fairies and I am more prone to believing they are elementals, or nature spirits.  I really like the book I'm reading, and I'll tell you if I have any luck or results with it.

I would like to hear YOUR tales.  Do you have any posted?  I've always been obsessed with fairies.  What I'm actually doing this year is planting a garden out for the fairies, and I'm going to put miniatures and such outside to pay tribute for them.  I have been keeping spaces in my bedroom with potted plants and am thinking about starting a container garden on my window sill on the outside, kind of like the ones you see on the Continent- the window flower boxes.

I think if you try and be close to nature, that sort of thing, they appreciate it because they know you are trying.  I'm trying to figure out a nice spot where I can perhaps add a small shelf in my bedroom, perhaps on the wall close to the window.  I can put miniature there, a fairy door, and decorate it for them.  The only thing is, sometimes fairies like to play tricks on you.  They think its funny, but I might now.  I just wouldn't want the wrong kind of fairies to come by, but I am very watery- my birth chart is full of water and air, so I would probably attract the water elementals more than anything, and perhaps some of the air ones too.  Problem with attracting fire elementals is that I do a lot of candle burning and I don't really want any accidents.

I don't have any first hand elf stories, but I have different ones that maybe would be more appropriate to post in another thread.  Like my experiences in that haunted house and other stuff that happened to my other relatives.
