Help with Resident Evil 3

I've just started Resident Evil 3: Nemesis a few months ago, once my friend introduced the game to me - along with Silent Hill and  RE: Gun Survivor.

The first match with the Nemesis in the police station, its been weeks and I still haven't no luck in destroying him. I've studied the walkthrough and things from a variety of sites and and many times I've tried - still no luck.My friend Vincent suggested on trying to circle him but it's way more harder than it looks. If anyone has any tips and hints on what gun i should use please don't hesitate to reply.

It's been awhile since I've played the game. Are you sure this is a fight, rather than flight, scenario? I know there are encounters with him early in the game where you're not supposed to fight, but rather run. If you don't have the grenade launcher and a good supply of rounds for it, then fighting Nemesis is a lost cause.

Lol, i remember this one.

Wasted all my ammo on this fight and then got mauled by zombies after.... :-D needed to do things all over again
