Sapphire, a wolf from the Silvermoon pack, was resting, when suddenly a gun shot was fired. The shot rang throughout Wolfwood. Snatching up her pup, she darted out of the way, just barely missing the bullet as it whizzed by her head. She knew that if she didn't make it to her pack in time, the hunter would surely kill her and her young pup! She raced through the woods, jumping over fallen trees and bushes, with her pup in her jaws. Just as she thought she had gotten away, another shot rang out. A searing pain shot through her shoulder, knocking her to the ground. She knew she wasn't going to make it, because her vision was getting blurry and her life was flashing before her eyes. She had no regrets, for she had at least saved her pup's life. her last words werem, "my dearest pup, I love you and i always will. Please, never forget me." Then she was gone. Her pup curled up beside her and mournfully howled.
Nearby, the rest of the Silvermoon pack was hunting, when they heard the pup howl. The raced to it's aid, faering the worst. They discovered their beloved Sapphire, struck down by a hunter's bullet, and her young pup, howling in grief. The alpha pair, Killfast and Aleu stepped foward. gazing over the body of their dear Sapphire, they exclaimed, "Hunters have taken one of our own! They are a danger to us and the Earth, Fire, Ice, and Shadow packs as well! e shall call for an emergency meeting." Cresent, the nurse wolf, came fowar, and taking the pup, headed back to the pack's cave. Killfast and Aleu sent wolves to each of the packs to ask the other alphas to bring their packs to the meeting at Stonewolf. Stonewolf was a large boulder sahped like a wolf's head.
A few hours later, the wolves report back to Killfast and Aleu. They said that the other alphas had agreed to the meeting and will meet them at Stonewolf in a few hours at nightfall. Later that evening, the Silvermoon pack had arrived at Stonewolf, and they were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their allies. The Fire pack was first to arrive, followed by the Ice pack and the Earth pack. The Shadow pack arrived last. Killfast was 1st to speak. " I have called this meeting to discuss what action is to be taken on these unwelcome hunters here at Wolfwood. Earlier today, one of our very own, Sapphire, was shto down by one of them! It is fortunate that we didn't lose her pup as well." Flameheart and Starfire stood up. "We mourn for your dear Sapphire Killfast, but what can we do? Our fangs and claws are no match for their guns." Scarface, earth pack's alpha male rose. "We can work together, and we can outwit those hunters!" Thundervolt, Shadow clan's alpha male exclaimed, "Why don't we devise a plan that will send those hunters back where they belong, and they will never want to return! All of our packs spend the night together, and tomorrow we shall see to it that they are gone by tomorrow night!" Killfast stepped foward. " Does anyone object to our packs stayiong together at silvermoon's cave?" none of the alphas objected. Killfast looked over the faces of the other alphas and says, "It's settled then. All of the packs will stay at Silvermoon's cave, and tomorrow, we make our move!"
The next morning, the packs awoke to find their alphas all up early. The alphas call their packs to surround them and hear the plan. The wolves sit around, anxiously waiting to hear their alpha's commands. Killfast stood up and explained, "Ok, here is the plan. We have found the hunters' campsite. I will bring a few of my wolves with me, while Flameheart takes a few of his wolves around to the other side. Meanwhile, we need a few Ice pack wolves who are really brave. They will need to be decoys to get the hunters to chase after them without their guns. While a few wolves from the Earth pack sneaks in and steals the guns. Then the Shadow pack will go into the woods and attack the hunters as the Ice pack brings them into the thickest part of the woods. Ok, any questions? Ok then , let's get some revenge!
The packs headed toward the hunters' campsite. Killfast brought his wolves around to the north side, while Flameheart brought his around to the south side. The plan was set. The ice wolves started holwing, and took off with the hunters on their tails. The earth pack went into the tent and stole the guns, while the Fire and Silvermoon packs started chasing after the hunters. The Ice pack rean into the thick part of the woods, straight into the Shadow clan's hiding place. The Shadow pack, The Silvermoon pack, and the Fire pack surrounded the hunters. Snarling, they stepped toward the hunters, bearing their sharop razor fangs. The hunters realized that they had made a terrible mistake of coming to Wolfwood. Killfast and Fireheart stepped foward. "You have killed one of our own, and unless you wish to die, leave now and never return! We have already stolen your guns, and we will destroy them as soon as we are done with you!" The hunters cried, "please don't hurt us!" The wolves stepped aside, and the hunters ran out of Wolfwood as fast as they could. The wolves laughed, and headed for home. They had had a long day, and they decided to sleep together again, but just for the night.
