Title: Ghost Hunters the series
Post by: Quest on May 11, 2007, 05:56:15 PM
This series has been airing on SciFi Channel in the US for two season now.  It's a reality series which follows the investigations of a team of paranormal investigators.  It will begin it's third season this summer on SciFi Channel and word is that it will be around for a fourth season as well.

I missed the chance to see it when it 1st came on, so I am catching up on
reruns

I have gotten to like it enough to take a look at giving this a shot (ghost hunting)
since the is plenty of haunts in Ga

A few that I have posted about I have already been there and checked them out  <^>

There is a group in Ga that is connected or has ties with TAPS called Ghost Hounds

Sounds like it will be fun, Markus.

I am going to start obtaining the equipment and start with the local stuff
close to where I live, then after that start going a little farther out into the state

I want to go to Savanah and check out the haunts there since there is supposed
to be some real good ones down there

Who knows maybe I will become famous like the guys in Ghost Hunters    :banplea:

I wouldn't know about Savanah, Mark. If you go, don't take a ghost tour.  Half the stuff they tell you is crap.

That place *is* haunted, i just don't think its as haunted as they like to think they are.

Savannah has a lot of documented haunts

But they are all over the world, one day I will start traveling farther out

One of the worse I been to was devils turnaround (real bad vibes when your there) last time I fell ill right away when I got to C.H cemetary

I like the Ghost Hunters show. Did anyone participate on the Halloween shows? Those are really fun. I'm not surprised the Halloween episode was their highest rated show yet.

I haven't cared for Ghost Hunters since I saw the episode of the guy standing underneath an air vent exclaiming "I found a cold spot!"  *rolls eyes*

Sounds like that might have been Andy IMO

The Orb(s) thing makes me roll my eyes, but I like the show though

Who was terribly annoyed by the ECW guest who constantly talked about himself, calling himself a "chic magnet?" He also said that because he is a chic magnet he would attract a female spirit. WHAT AN IDIOT! I wanted to drop kick him last night. I've never been so annoyed with Ghost Hunters-he ruined a lot of it. Otherwise, the rest of the crew made me proud! Especially Tango and Steve! I watched Ghost hunters meanwhile reading incessantly last night.

I missed the Halloween episode Friday!  It made me so sad!!!!  I couldn't figure out how to use my roommate's TV -.-  My parents were all "Oh, you should have seen it!  It was AWESOME!"

Was it really that good?  In fact, I will check out their website when I have the time...

I love Ghost Hunters.  I think that the best part about it is that they don't automatically take anything that they find as solid proof.  They actually go back and try to find an explanation for it.

It was really good though! If you get to watch Ghost Hunters Wednesday, they're releasing the results of from the live episode! :) I love Ghost Hunters too-and I love how they believe but will debunk when necessary-that makes me believe in them. Don't be sad though, they'll re-air it. Ghost Hunters were not too happy with all of the cross-promoting on this live show because they said it sort of took away from what they do. They are really down to earth and Sci-Fi hyped it up a little too much and made them have guests on that they could have done without.

You are correct IMO Iris   I also found the so called chic magnet annoying

I did like Amanda Tapping in the show, she appeared to be more interested in what was going on compared to the chic magnet

Amanda Tapping I liked too. :) Ha ha the "Chic Magnet," I just wanted to drop kick him. I love Ghost hunters. Tango is great!

Do you like and also watch Ghost Hunters International?

I love the locations they go to overseas, such history and beautiful locations

Ghost Hunters International is pretty good.. I'd love it better with Jason and Grant though. I know, the places are beautiful..this past season they've done 3 episodes that are about 5 minutes away from my house. Well, 2 of the locations are 5 minutes away.. and the other one is about a half an hour. The first episode of the season was in Buffalo.. and the train station..also the the Marjim Manor. :)

I enjoy watching the Ghost Hunters series. However, I can't be too impressed with the big finale. They promote the live show to death. Can you imagine if nothing happened the entire show? Parts of the show are probably going to be put on to insure that the show doesn't turn out to be a complete bust.

They did promote the live show a little too much. Grant actually addressed that in his blog on myspace. The cross promoting was done by Sci-Fi which didn't given the team much say in what they should or shouldn't do. Sometimes nothing does happen-and I've seen episodes where they make sure we know that. That's why I like them-they stick to the facts and don't fabricate stories.

Now, Paranormal State-I liked that show when it first came out but, oh, boy that show has created more fabrications than I care to stand. They have made a mockery of the paranormal realm..it is really upsetting when I watch that.

I'm also becoming a fan of the show Ghost Adventures-it's three guys who do majority of the camera work and lock themselves in haunted location from dusk till dawn. They're so energetic-I love watching them.

I LOOOVE TAPS!! Has anyone seen that episode where something kept grabbing the collar of Grant's jacket?? That was messed up. I like GHI too, but TAPS is far and away my favorite.

I liked the episode with meatloaf where the water bottle moved as a sign ...of course the window that was closed next to where bottle was placed was open in the scene when they discovered it moved to the back of the toilet  :-D....many are convinced that TAPS employs cheap parlor hoaxes utilizing fishing line in the case of the collar tug and the Light house rocking chair incident...there is a substantial body of evidence to support this, but Ill reserve commentary .....b

I can see how people would think that. I don't believe it though.

I can see how people would think that. I don't believe it though.

you don't believe it or don't want to believe it?...

I could of I course show you a video of kids recreating the infamous jacket tug hoax and a myriad of other mitigating factors that contributes to this but again; I'll reserve commentary...
what you need to remember is that this is intended as entertainment and should not under any circumstance be construed as actual paranormal research/investigation and teams that operative under the auspices of the TAPS Family banner should be afforded even less credibility (JMO).....b

edit: I only bring this up because I feel that it is for good of the community as a whole ...

For the love of Pete, I'd hope a group of kids could recreate that! My three year old niece could recreated that! What's this "you don't want to believe" crap? I'm not a child that doesn't recognize my own emotions. I either believe or I do not. I've come across a lot of people and a lot of 'paranormal' shows. I believe TAPS. And you aren't reserving 'commentary' when you keep posting an opposing opinion. And what you need to know, Barek, is that this thread is for fans of the show. We don't trash your pictures, so why trash something we like?

I wrote a rather lengthy reply to this but decided against posting it out of respect for this being a pro TAPS thread as you stated, but the threat of attacking my photos is assuredly not a factor in this decision for the record  ...

Although I'm curious as to why you believe in TAPS when you admitted that the bungled collar tug hoax could be replicated by a 3 year old?...did you see the recent Meatloaf botched water bottle debacle?... this is just another in a seemingly endless pattern of deception that occurs on an almost weekly basis and this is why I felt compelled to ask if you simply want to believe as common sense dictates that they clearly have perpetrated hoaxes on the show ... I mean you seem like an intelligent person, but this blind devotion that J&G enjoy completely eludes me  :? ....

respectfully standing down

peace  :-).....b

Why would you trash the work of someone who has the very best photos on the planet? works hard and contributes to the community, goes into the field and actually produces a body of work?   :-D and does NOT fake evidence...

wow...all upset over a TV show on SyFy channel? you do know its for entertainment its not real...right?   0:)
