Title: Auras.
Post by: Alien-Britt-44 on May 28, 2008, 11:52:37 pm
Can anyone give me some tips on learning how to see Auras?

Seeing auras is actually quite easy. There are a few tips and techniques which enable just about anyone to see them, no matter what they believe to start with.

First off a bit a science to convince the rational brain.

If you have ever looked at the stars in the night sky you may have also noticed that some stars are easier to see when we look just to the side of them. When we look directly at them they can disappear. The reason is due to the physical makeup of the eye. At the back of the eye we have what biologists refer to as 'rods' and 'cones'. These basically detect light and pass the signal onto the brain whereby it decodes the signal and we end up with visual perception, or sight. Simple huh!

Ok, directly at the back of the retina there is a higher concentration of cones to rods( I think its this way round)
This means that when we look directly at something there are more cones being activated.
Now biologists have also worked out that rods are more sensitive to the higher ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum than cones.  Therefore when we look just to the side of things in a dark environment we often see things better as we are using detection cells that are more sensitive to higher frequencies. Now, with a bit of skullduggery we can use this knowledge to help us in our task to see parts of the aura in the higher spectrum.

So on to the actual instructions.

Things you will need

a   You are going to need a very dimly lit environment, preferrably with a pale even textured flat wall to view things against.
How dark? Well just beyond the point where reading large print is possible. (You'll have to experiment to get it right during the exercise.)

b   You will also need a bright light source in another room nearby.

c   Your hands. Its easiest to see the aura around your own hands first.

So on to the actual instructions.

1   The first thing to do is to saturate your eyes with bright light.

Now I have to put in a word of caution here. Please be sensible about exposing your eyes to bright lights.

The idea is to temporarily saturate the cells directly at the back of the retina with strong light. This is done so that the other cells sensitive to higher spectrum really kick in and over compensate.
I suggest that staring at a light source for about 30 seconds will suffice. Again though, please be sensible. Your eyes are precious so do not damage them. If your unsure about what extent of light saturation please err on the side of caution. I dont want any law suits!

2 As you are saturating your eyes with light, start rubbing your hands together very vigourously. Enough so that they become warm or even hot. This brings energy and your attention to this area.

3 Now quickly enter the dimly lit room. Place the finger tips from opposite hands together. Holds your hands up so that they are between you and the viewing surface.

4 Quickly pull the hands apart and let the eyes notice  any areas of extra luminosity of extra transparency surrounding your hands.

5 Put your hands together at the fingertips and quickly repeat the motion, pulling them apart briskly.

6 Change the lighting levels up and down. You will find the right balance.

7 Repeat the steps above but be patient. Seeing the aura usually starts very slowly. At first it often just looks like areas of extra brightness between the fingers. As your eyes learn the actual trick this will get more and more obvious. Its just a knack. As such pretty much anyone can learn it. Just a question of good instruction.

With practice and a little application you can start doing cool stuff like seeing colours or glowing footprints long afer people have walked past.

Now go play and report back either way.

thank you for replying to me.  That is a curious method though... Are you sure that's an Aura and not the coulours of the eyes being messed up after being in the light?

This is a typical question I get from from people. Its best off being answered by trying the exercise. That way you can answer the question for yourself.

I have probably taught about 60 -70 people to see auras with this technique. I think that all managed to see something unusual however not everyone is convinced that they saw the aura. Some of these people thought that they saw after images of light saturation, others were unsure, others were convinced they saw auras.

The thing that I noticed was that those who thought they saw the aura were more likely to continue practically looking for it. Generally the others form an instant opinion and disregard the technique. I guess it had no importance or interest for them.

Initially it can seem like afterimages of light, but persevere a little and develop the technique. It can be learnt just like driving a car or speaking another language can be learnt. We can get instant results but if we disregard the practice then all we ever do is speculate on things we have never really tasted.

The important thing now is have you actually tried the exercise ,or are you presupposing things about it before trying it?

no I haven't. I was just wondering because I have done it before and I always dismissed it as light messing up in my eyes.  I have seen Auras, but not by that technique.  I haven't gotten it quite yet, but I've begun to see outlines and I saw a pale green on my second try using a consentratoion method that a friend of mine taught me. I was just wondering whether it really works or if there's somehting scientific behind your method.

If you've already had success with seeing things just go straight to the darkened room blank wall part. Keep going at it.

The trickiest part in teaching this stuff in my opinion is getteing people to the first part; seeing something they are not used to seeing.

If you've hit that point already then the more time you spend looking the better you get. Its a skill. To get good  practice. Talking about it is fine but its only talk. Now you must practice practice practice. I am mentally standing over you with a big stick beating this into you as you read this.

Go do your work!

Someone else on the forum wrote about auras recently under the heading of ghost hunting etiquette. Some good stuff in there. The post also referred to books by Barbara Ann Brennan. Her stuff is a treasure trove on energy fields.

I have been practising, but the only two auras I have seen are my friend's and my bus drivers.   :| well, gotta keep working at it i guess.   How well do you see auras?

Now in my daily work vary rarely.

However if I start talking to someone about it I usually start seeing it.

If I do any energy work then it really kicks in and I'll start seeing automatically. This includes footprints after someone has walked past, handprints, classic halos, layers, colours, etc etc. With the sight comes the ability to feel it too! It soon starts to become a very full experience.

I remember when I was really interested in this stuff many years ago I would see it nearly all the time. I spent years at university at the back of the lecture halls watching the auras of the lecturers and students. Bored out of my mind I found it much more interesting than the droning content of the lectures. I pointed it out to a few friends who also started doing the same. I think sometimes it was the only thing that kept us awake. I must have spent years in this altered state. Didn't really help when it came to the exams. But then on reflection, neither did listening to the lectures!

Have you tried the darkened room, plain background? Get a friend to experiment with you and take it in turns. I imagine you'll find it tons easier.

I haven't tried yet, but I haven't had a chance to. I don't have many friend's who are interested and would be willing to let me experiment my aura skills on them. But I will once I get a chance.  Thanks for all your help!
What other kinds of things do you have interest in (like, paranormal stuff besides auras.... ) ? I'm curious.

God, I had quite a shock when I started making this list of interests. Please understand I am by no means an expert in any of the following. I am also anxious about setting myself up as a know-it-all. I don't. Far far from it. The following are just things that interest me. Its actually quite interesting for me personally making this brief list. It kind of gives me a map of myself.

nlp, hypnosis, transpersonal psychology, meatphysics, change work, comparitive religions, spiritual technology and self help. Teaching techniques, accelerated learning and styles of, languages, strategies, concepts, hermenuetics.
Philosophy, enlightenment, mysticism, magick and occultism, perception and popular science.
Altered states, hallucinogenics and ethnobotany, sorcery, shamanism, nagualism, tribal beliefs, lucid dreaming astral projection, dreamwork, remote viewing, so called channelling.
Yoga, tensegrity, chi kung, martial arts, reiki, energy cultivation;
Acupunture,  five element, feng shui, geomancy, vatsu, arcitectural and landscape design, eco housing, traditional crafts, permaculture, sustainability, energy effects of architecture and environment.

Quite a fewof the single subjects above break down into lots of other subjects. Ie comparitive religion interests include christianity, judaism, buddhism, zen, taoism, paganism, druidry, wicca, spiritualism, popular modern alienism. Same with martial arts, nagualism, crafts etc etc.

I also love old buildings, architecture and the restoration of. Generally things of great beauty or inspiration. Art for arts sake, and of course ideas. I love ideas. Sharing them, learing them, creating them.

I think one of my greatest pleasures is the feeling of transcendance or realisation in any format. I equally enjoy witnessing other people have it. Somehow I get to share a little bit of the feeling too!

That and really great food. Talking of which, I have developed an appetite!

Hi SD,
do you feel them too! If so what do you feel?  Can you see/feel at the same time?
How would you teach someone to see them better?
Also what do you do with it? Of what practical use is this ability?

well i mostly just see. i if i connect with someone i can sence them.  To teach idk. i mean this abbility came natural. like i was never taught how to do it. let me put it this way it's like ur asking me to teach you to breath. i mean you just do it. it comes naturaly to me. the use well one you can see the size of one's spiritual powers. and  the color of their auras usally show what kind of person or that persons abbilities are.

Hi SD?

what I meant was are there any conditions that make it easier for you to see it?

If so what are they?

Also what do you actually do to 'connect' to someone?

Saying 'just connect' is easy but if you can track exactly what you do to 'just connect', chances are someone else can learn how to do exactly the same thing. Then you've got a skill you can teach.

During twilight is when im able to see the best.   what i mean by connect is if ther is someone i know i can kinda make a connection with my aura between me and that person no matter how far they are away. to do it i just think of that person and surge my spritual power untill i find them and well that just about it

Hi SD,
have you tried 'surging your spiritual power' at trees? There is an effect which can sometimes happen which is really really cool.

After a few minutes they surge back! Takes them a lot longer but they do definitely surge back.

I tried it a few times way back. Definitely went too far once though. Started blending the energies of the tree with my own. Spent about a week wandering around thinking I was a tree. Beautiful, but not very practical!

All I'll say is find a good healthy tree. (you dont want any sick energy) Also one that you have an affinity with. Also nothing too big! A big ancient tree will blow you away no matter who you are. Also avoid early afternoon to do this. They have a bit of a downer at this time and you can end up feeling really really sad afterwards. (Something to do with sap flow and internal tree stuff ?)

Have a go and write up what happens on this thread. See if we can get anyone else involved too.

Do you know why trees have energy? IF you think its their own your wrong. i would be careful doing that. you might loseyourself in the past. if you don't understand send me a private message.

so- you say that the gist left you? That makes sense... children more naturally see Auras and, in not being educated about them, tend to forget how to see them. Your gift in it must have alsted longer.

Ah, well great for you!  The gift of seeing  Auras leaves most as they grow older, purely for the reason that since they are not educated about them, they ignore them, considering them unimportant.
