This might be old news but I thought I'd post it in case some of you hadn't heard tis yet.


       
Warner Bros . is ramping up development on a prequel to the 2007 smash I Am Legend , which will see Will Smith reprising his role as one of the lone survivors on a zombified Earth.

Director Francis Lawrence is expected to take the reins again in the story of how New Yorkers came to be stricken by a deadly plague that turned them into nocturnal, blood-sucking creatures.

I Am Legend raked in $256 million domestically but [spoiler alert!] didn't really set up a Smith-starring sequel, prompting studio executives to start brainstorming other ways to keep the lucre flowing.

I am going to have to watch it, just have not had the time

I heard it was a remake of the 70s movie with Charlton Heston called "Omega Man"

Ive heard something about the remake of The last man on earth. Does anyone know anything about it, or maybe someone watched it?

Robert Neville, a doctor, due to an experimental vaccine, is the only survivor of an apocalyptic war waged with biological weapons. The plague caused by the war has killed everyone else except for a few hundred deformed, nocturnal people calling themselves "The Family".

The plague has caused them to become sensitive to light, as well as homicidally psychotic.

They believe science and technology to be the cause of the war and their punishment, and Neville, as the last symbol of science, the old world, and a "user of the wheel", must die.

Neville, using electricity, machinery, and science attempts to hold them at bay.

Hmm... I guess I heard wrong then... cause I thought they were making a movie called exactly that, The Last Man on Earth...

As an avid fan of the post-apocalyptic genre of fiction, I'd love to see a prequel to I Am Legend made.
Random trivia: Famous singer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Patton, of the bands Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Fantomas, and Tomahawk, did all the voices for the vampire/zombie/darkbringer things in I Am Legend. He had little to no effects or modifications done to his voice to make it sound the way it did.

So basically they show how the cancer killing virisus backfired and turned people into zombie-vampire-ghouls.
