Dimension Films Remaking American Werewolf
Source: The Hollywood Reporter, Bloody-Disgusting
June 30, 2009
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed a Bloody-Disgusting report that Dimension Films is remaking John Landis' 1981 horror cult classic An American Werewolf in London.
The studio has picked up the rights from Landis. Overture executives-turned-producers Sean and Bryan Furst are on board to produce.
Landis wrote and directed the original, which starred David Naughton and Griffin Dunne as two American backpackers hiking in the Yorkshire moors attacked by a mysterious animal who turns out to be a werewolf.
Landis will act as an executive producer and possibly consult. No writer or director is on board yet.

Figures. Remakes seem to be the fad in these bleak times. They'll probably CGI the hell out of it, so if Rick Baker ain't back for the FX, I'm not interested. More looking forward to Universals remake of "The Wolf-Man", Bakers doing the FX for that I believe.

Vouch this, I too would like to see a classic spiffed up a bit without loosing it's inherant appeal.

When you try to remake a classic
Don't mess with the original story (plot line) PLEEEEEASE, if they would just do that they may get it right

They're remaking An American Werewolf In London?
Well that sucks. An American Werewolf In London is my favourite film!!, if they screw the remake up i'll hate Dimension Films forever.
there's been remakes of Halloween: more gory and disturbing than the original, but not better.
Friday The 13th: the remake of it was disappointing to me and the originals are far better.
It just seems like usually the remakes are crap and they warp and twist the original plot of the film.

There's only one remake coming up that I think holds some promise:
