Lore, location, appearance, personality, physical attributes, and anything else can be said.  And just to get started:

Leprechauns are Irish fay known for their gold and good luck on St. Patrick's Day.

Nymphs are common in Greek mythology.

Dryads are tree fae.

Dwarves are primarily Germanic fae that are short and bearded and drink lots of mead

Elves are nimble and have been portrayed in many ways.  Tall and slender with agility like no other to the short Keebler elves that make cookies.

Faeries of all kind are seen as looking many different ways, from those with human-childlike features to the more seducing kind.

Dwarves are not Germanic, unless you count Nordic in the generalization of all Germanic Lore.

Dryads are bound to their trees, and live as long as they do, a dryad bound to a Redwood would live awhile, 0_0.

Leprechauns are good luck any day, because they give gold to those with no greed in their hearts.

uhhhh huuuuuuh kadesh but yes as mathew put it they are just a race of fey it's this is demonstrated in most italian/greek stories of nymphs dryads and oceanides

I'm frightened-deathly frightened of Gnomes. I've been petrified of them since my childhood-but I love faeries. I know Gnomes seem harmless but I fear them. It's so stupid, I know. I'm just wondering what more Gnomes actually entail? If they're known for evil or good? I'm assuming good in the opinions of others-but for me I think they're evil. Faeries though are beautiful and sweet and give me a sense of relaxation when I see a picture or drawing of one. I don't understand why I'm so fearful of stupid Gnomes!

Gnomes are typically depicted as earth elemental spirits that are custodians of the earth. As far as my admittedly limited knowlede extends, there is little to suggest that they are beings with a fearsome reputation

Or are they different completely? & what about orcs? Are they a modern day fictional thing, or do they come from legends & myths as well?

when i say fae i mean generally things that can travel from realm to realm and are not human, but dragons are not fae they are creatures with high degrees of magical power where as orcs i would have to check on because until the ehole lord of the ringd i think most people would have just called the modern idea of orcs trolls.
