OK - I now everyone can joke about hell. But honestly Im scared of the place. Probably one of the only things I am truely scared of.  Eternal torment dose not sound like a party or a walk in the park.  And I can be a badass when Im not in a world of pain- but as soon as my flesh starts to boil off my bones --- I will be crying like a baby.  Cant say I truely would ever wish myself there.  But at the same time- In heaven/ I will never be reunited to the one person I have ever truly and honestly given my heart to.
I don't make sense - I got my pride
Don't need no meaning
I feel no shame - I will not believe
I got no choice - I'm out of control
And I love it

Yeah... Hell is one of the many contradictions many religions have, in my opinion.... The all-loving invisible magical zombie living in space will send you to Hell if you're evil... But before you leave, he just wanted to let you know: He loves you. Note the highly exaggerated distaste for religion  <^> The thought of eternal suffering is pretty scary, though... Although I'm more afraid of simply losing my conscience. Like... there's no afterlife, no nothing. Just emptiness and you're not conscious you ever existed. I'd rather take eternal suffering if I had to chose between the two.

But pain and worries are what makes our lives worth living. They give me a goal, ya know? A challenge of sorts. You might be right about oblivion being better than hell, though... But the fact that I'd lose all consciousness or feeling just doesn't feel right =/ Not that burning and suffering an eternity of pain isn't really something to look forward to, either :-P

I'm looking forward to walking into Hell, guns a-blazing, ready to fight till the end if I have to  :gun: /end crazy fantasies (maybe wearing one of those black long coats and a pair of sunglasses too? :-P) Sorry, that was my creative self going crazy.. *turns to subconscious* GO BACK IN YOUR CAGE, YOU!

But really now, I hate sleeping. I don't like not being conscious, knowing I could do so much more while I'm wasting precious time doing nothing. At least I have my dreams to keep me company, which I wouldn't have in that boring non-afterlife :( I only fear the moment of my death if it has to be in a way I can't do anything about. Like old age. Or some disease. That wraps up pretty much every cause of death possible XD Except if the apocalypse is coming soon and it's a zombie-apocalypse, then I can go down with a fight  0:) I'm not really afraid of the afterlife as I see it, though... I believe in reincarnation, so no worries ^_^

Haha, you're slowly making em rethink all my beliefs about the afterlife... It's true if Hell is indeed designed for the ultimate suffering, anyone would eventually break down and beg for oblivion. On second thought, it might not be so bad to just sink into nothingness... Reincarnation still sounds better, though

unless you truly find sense and truth to it that you agree with.

That' exactly it! Thanks  You've made me a little less insane than I was a couple hours ago...  :-D

I see Moonbaby is already plying her intellect upon the newest member of our community.  Oh how while your words, how solid your logic, is it any wonder that I hold you in such high regard?  Go Moonbaby GO!  You're already a hell of a young woman, and you'll be so much more as you move towards being a young adult.  (Where's my pedestal, Dam it!  Has anyone seen my pedestal?)

Wow.... summarized hell is the death of the body, the death of the consciousness, the death of resistance, the death of self and the death of identity. to be replaced by an eternity in a proverbial "loser of the universe" statuesque pose. But its not so much the eradication of self, its the final settling of the being into a state of irreversible lameness that may or may not come with pain....  thereby separating the being from the constant change in the universe....... Truly separated from creation if this is the case.

And the good news is that it looks as if muerte has finally grown a sense of humor. I wonder........ did i plan all that with my contest? or was it just a pleasant side effect?

Who knows? who cares? Lets whatever happens happen as long i get a front row seat?

I went to private school for the one year that my mother could afford it in the 7th grade.I got news when I was in class to come down to the principals office immediately. The principal informed me that my uncle had committed suicide. She pretended to care and then "informed" me that he was going to hell for what he did. To this day,I hate that woman and what she said. If God is such a loving God,then why would he send his sick child to burn for eternity. He had a mental illness that controlled his actions he couldn't help it he was very sick. So what does God send Cancer victims to hell too? They can't help that they are sick and the same thing with those who take their lives.

Because God is a creator not an active force. He created the active forces and rules that control this earth and every single thing on it and your grandfather was simply in direct breach of one of those rules. Sure it's a bit of a 'bug in the system' and it's incredibly unfair but those forces and rules don't bend mate even if he couldn't help it.

The other possiblity is that he didn't go to hell, personally I'm not a big believer in much of what the bible preaches as it reflects the social/cultural/radical beliefs of the time and therefore is a little subjective. However the 10 commandments seem logical and more of a summary or guideline to life's conditions. Some people seem to believe that commiting suicide is in a way, murdering yourself and therefore breaking one of the commandments however there is a possibility that these people are wrong and murder is seen as the act of taking someone life without their consent or similar. In which case, he's where he belongs in heaven.

I don't quite understand what you mean about cancer victims? They're not taking their own life but dying 'naturally'...

Well I was more pointing out that it really isn't for them to decide, you will either go to heaven or hell. Those forces don't preach they simply act. You could obey the 10 commandments every step of your life and never lead yourself or be led astray and yet still end up 'burning in the pits of eternity' for all we know.

We may just rot, regardless.

ANL eventually everyone gets a game over, it's called death. But I think I see what you mean  schizophrenia is a major obstacle to surpass, however it doesn't necessarily have to kill you. What kind of schizophrenia do you have?
