I like music talk.
But it seems every one on here (no offense) is stuck on this thing of metal and depressing music and 90's.
Any one listen to something else than that? I know you guys aren't teen metal heads who act all badass (thank god for that) but still.
Anyone listen to
Rockabilly
1950's and early 60s rock and roll and doo wop
1920's 30's 40's big band and swing and dixieland jazz
Medieval music
Electronica (trance mostly)
Punk rock (the real kind like the clash and stuff not fake emo crap)
Ska.
I mostly listen to the 30s and 40s jazz myself. I am stuck back then but hey be jealous, our styles were better and our cars were actually made of metal and were fast (1957 bel air was bad ass) and hot rods :p and the mafia
-
Well when it comes to music I listen to just about everything except hip hop. I like 70's rock and alot of 80's rock. I do like metal though, i dont find it depresing but envegerating...certain songs anyway.
-
I've found that most people who are into the stuff on this forum are into metal haha,
than there are a few exceptions like myself
-
I think redfan made ANOTHER wrong assumption
-
I like happy music. Believe it or not I actually can listen to Avril Lavigne, Ke$ha, Rihanna, and a lot of other poppy music and enjoy it. I like techno :P Shakira's my favorite.
I like a lot of things, and I am sure like most people here I am not confined to a certain category of dark depressing or metal music. Though I like it just fine at times. Actually, there isn't a lot of metal I like I don't think. I like Angelspit. What's that considered? :P
Note: I LOVE Classical music as well.
To say everyone here only likes metal and depressing stuff is a very poor generalization. As many varieties of monster there are in the world, not all of them prefer the same music genre. JUST saying :)
-
I can handle some of the new stuff on the radio because in certain times it does sound good
-
:-o :-o oh now thats a slap in the face...
richie valens.. know him and you'll love his music
belly dancing music is so soothing, powerful, exotic, and KICKS ASS (yes i listen to it because i LOVE to belly dance)
tina turner is one of the best :-P
and i don't think anyone here listens to depressing music because well we're too monstrous and ballsy for that crap
lol so where did you get the idea that we like depressing crap red ? (is it ok if i call you "red" reddfan45x ?)
-
I listen to a pretty wide variety, but find myself really drawn to swing.
-

I love ritchie valens and most other 1950's artists. and yeah calling me that is fine.
And I had been going threw past posts and see alot of metal related stuff, i tend to assume things alot when im having a bad time in life which i am now haha im usually less polite and more rude sometimes i guess
-
Apart from being in love with 70s and 80s rock (kudos to a father with an extensive record collection), I do indeed listen to non-metal music. Though nothing peppy and otherwise annoying like Rihanna. try some of that alternative stuff, but only depending. Oh, and I don't much like hip hop whatsoever, except for a couple of songs that are just "stuck in your head" types. (I wouldn't listen to them if they didn't somehow get stuck in my head).
And who doesn't love some classic ol' Rock'n'Roll sometimes?
-
I'll be honest, my playlists consist of The Goo Goo Dolls, AFI, Emilie Autumn, Nightwish, Within Temptation, The Divine Madness, Ruslana, Hollywood Undead and things more in that area. I was just trying to make an extreme point with the happy music. Don't think that I'm all about pop -.-
-
OMG, this post made me laugh hehehe!
Those kids, always full of surprises huh? *<:)
-
The sunshine girls lol xD

lol well i noticed that in the threads that you responded that was related to music, all the members that responded it were the ones who were most likely around my age and listened to the type of rock of metrosexuals who go all out in make up and costume with no musical talent .. not us
Apart from being in love with 70s and 80s rock (kudos to a father with an extensive record collection)
lol my dad also got me into 80's music and films :-D
  ok LG that song was funny as hell  this song made me laugh so much i had tears
-
@LG ..............HAHAHA.
@CM must be a dad-influences-culture thing! My mom's personal film/music preferences never really rubbed off on me :P
-
 eh maybe or i'm just one of the half of the people who are under daddy's influence :-D lol now that i think about it, i don't think i'm influenced by anything from my mom  the only things we have in common are big butts and faces  well except for my lips, they're much more plump
-
I've pretty much taken everything on my own, my parents are big into the rock from their time (70s late 60s) and my dad like alot of metallica stuff and my mom likes alot of corny stuff idr their name.
I've met people who like music that I like but they aren't big in it like me where I also make it my style like how alot of people do with their music genres.
Haven't seen a person my age casually wearing a suit from the 30's and a fedora, or wearing leather jackets and biker boots.
But hey, its high school most everyone is a mindless drone, not me
-
Nothing wrong with a suit/fedora combo, or even a leather jacket/biker boots combo. I personally like to wear things I find comfortable, no need to express my tastes through my clothing. Either people know me and what I like, or don't know me and can get to.
-
I listen to Classic Rock. I enjoy some rap, I like some Pop, I do like some older bands like The Temptations and I like a little bit from The Beatles. I like hard Rock and Alternative Rock, I do like some Grunge. And I do like Metal, sometimes depressing stuff if I'm in the mood, but I dislike the music that is all screaming to where you can't understand anything and the music doesn't make any sense.
-
ok but what got you into your taste of music, lol i bet your grandparents love that you're into that stuff
-

I grew up with Classic Rock. My mom, who grew up with a lot of it, listened to it a lot when I was growing up. And I discovered a lot of bands I love now through other family members and some people I met over the internet. There's one genre that I will probably never like, and that is Country.
-
I like some country music, I guess because I can relate to some of it. Alot of it is working class sort of stuff, I know what its like to bust your ass all week then party like hell on the weekend then go to work monday hungover and want to kick the bosses ass, get bit by a dog, wreck your truck, get thrown in jail, kicked out of the bar, ect ect ect. Yep I have lived a country song or two... F**k its fun though.... Except the hangovers.... And jail... And getin bit by a dog....

I usually only ever stick to the jeans-and-jacket wear. That said, I do dress up if I feel like it. Which, I usually don't because I'm far too tired to give a sh*t. Plus the jeans-and-jacket suits me :P
My father recently gifted me with the Led Zepp IV vinyl. So glad - now all I have to do is buy a record player, as he gave our last one away.
-
^ lol :P I don't have a fondness for country, save for the theme song of True Blood. There are only a few rap songs I can stand, and only because I've learned choreography to them in past years.
-
I love country, real country though not this crap on the radio today thats a bunch of boy bands in pop
im talking about hank williams and johnny cash and willie nelson kind of stuff, stuff that isn't pop city country
-
I always considered Johnny Cash more than just country, but either way his music is great. I can't really deal with rap, but I do enjoy some hip hop from back when.
-
Ahhh, Johnny rulez. Wille Nelson rulez too :-D
-
I can listen to anything with some tempo and a beat...... except rap and such - that's just annoying to me.
AGREED, ESPECIALLY with the mainstream crap and whats worse is that now not only is it about money and ass, its all just random beats and repeated lyics with the clothes that make the guy look metro gay and having the IQ of 2
-
^ *<:)
My brother tends to listen to nothing else. It makes me cry. Rihanna, if you're the only girl in the world, then why the f*ck do you have to ask your boyfriend what your name is? Either he's the stupidest man alive, or you're really braindead.
God, I can't stand the radio anymore. :p
-

Johnny also did some Rockabilly
-
As did a few other country artists of the day. Cash Willy and Waylen Jenings were considered outlaws back then, and there is more to it than their sound. I met Willy once, got a chance to hang out with him for a bit too, hes a hell of a nice guy and quiet a bit just like I figured he would be.

 that is sad lol well when i listen to the radio its only something like the buzz (a rock station) or mega 101.1 (spanish music) but yes the radio has become sucky
-

Now, thats a story to share ;)
-
Its one for the books for sure. I would probably have to leave half of it out lol.
-
Bleh, i bet ud leave out the best parts too :P
-

Lol I reminded you of The Temptations. I love them
Screamo is great when Im in a destructive mood.
I like to listen to everything except country and gospel. It also depends on my mood what I listen to.
-
and just have the dirty parts :-P
Erm, by "best" i really ment dirty :P

-
Not dirty, possibly drug related. Maybe I said too much already.lol
-
But thats no drug, its a healing herb
-
Its would probably have to leave half of it out lol.
that's where you made your mistake buddy :-P
-
Ok, ya talked me into it. Back sometime around 99 or 01 he did a concert in my town. At the time I was working part time in a motercycle shop. The boss somehow got him to come over on a saturday for a promotional sort of a thing. We started talking first about motercycles, then music, then just whatever and I guess he thought I was alright, so he gives me and two other guys at the shop tickets to his next show in a neighboring town and we hung out after the show. Thats the short version but Im sure you can fill in the blanks. But there are no dirty parts, unless smoking a little herbal medicine is dirty... Which we may or may not have done lol.
-
Fair enough ;) ;)
-
 did i break ya rc ? :-D
 sounds peachy clean to me
but seriously you got buttraped by the lucky stick that day, the day sounds like a lot of fun lol
lol it depends on what it led to to be considered dirty
-
LOL! buttraped by the lucky stick! Ill have to write that one down. Lol
-
i've been wondering this for awhile ravenclaw, that dog on as your pic, as that yours?
-
LOL! buttraped by the lucky stick! Ill have to write that one down. Lol
 i thought you would've thought of something like that already :-P
-
This topic has veered waaay off course.
-
Wait, it actually HAD a topic?
-
 topic was too simple
lol well i didn't even know anyone on here listened to "depressing dark rock"
who actually listens to "depressing dark rock" on here ?? :?
(and would this be considered being back on topic ?)
  i can just imagine muerte, rc, and moloch listening to something like "drain my veins to leave this empty body of darkness" *<:) *<:)
or "beaten my society because my black lipgloss looks too metro" *<:) *<:)
lol no "rebel yell" from billy idol would be more realistic :-D
-
Basically its my mean way of saying
Does any one enjoy the music I like? I hate being the only one who likes what I like, just wanted to know if Im not alone in believing 50's rock was when rock was truly golden
or that jazz from the 1920's 30s and 40s is amazing swinging unlike that bebop boring crap jazz makes today
-
but the type of metal/rock we like is completely different from "dark depressing rock"
thats like saying pop is your way of saying hip hop, completely different styles of music that aren't relative whatsoever
well i like a few artists from the 50's
but to answer your question.... we are MONSTROUS, this is the MONSTROUS community - we love all things MONSTROUS  <^> , so what do you think ? :-D
-
I've just met some kids on here that are all emo and "blah blah im a dark vampire but im only 15 and I need to get hit by a car and see how immortal I am now"
which we all know and love... Those people make me mad. But i haven't seen many on here, they seem to stick to the werewolf threads and they don't last long as they get put down with the truth about werewolves and vampires and they go find a forum thats made for teens like that lol
See, they think they are "bad ass" because they are listening to this music thats singing about them being badass and evil and awesome and wearing dark clothing blah blah, but then you look at them when they aren't playing their evil music and they're some fat guy getting money of the kids of america
This is going a little off topic, Im starting to rant about the wonderful teens who are lost in their own cheesy twilight fantasy and are all slipknot obsessed..
which was the direction I was heading, i wanted to attract those kind of kids into this thread so I could destroy them lol, but I don't think they come here for anything but to talk about their delusions.
OKAY rant over :focus:
-
oh  well yea THOSE dumb asses never last and they aren't part of the monstrous community.
and yes that crap is entertaining to see but ANNOYING AS HELL bc with all the vampire and werewolf hype people have become delusional thinking they're all that
and i think that yes there faes, demons, vamp.s, and all that BUT its NOTHING like whats on tv. and people who have the abilities and have non human souls and are basically supernatural, hell we don't advertise it and act stupid about it. people who really are like that are the quiet ones and just think of it as whatever or think of it as being a pain in the ass!
and plus if anyof those emo pansey asses can levitate, summon, or any of that stuff THEN maybe they should consider being part of the supernatural but besides that shut the HELL up !!
..... so basically yes i comepletely agree with ya red
-

-
Onepiece, you totally missed the point of this thread.
Not to mention that being an "emo" is "englufing in angst during adolescence." We know what it is. I wonder why you think everyone here is from a distant planet or something. We're well aware of how people wok.
So excuse us idiots while you indulge in your ex-emo-ness.
-
We idiotz just dont get how Emo is kewl i guess *shrugs*

Not to mention that being an "emo" is "englufing in angst during adolescence." We know what it is.
if ya knew you would have said emo posers...not just emo...(everyone hates those posers)
its funny how one word can be misunderstood if not used correctly
-
I'm really tempted to argue with this idiot, but I'll refrain.
-
I'm really tempted to argue with this idiot, but I'll refrain.

OMG, i had to train for years to be able to refrain (from arguing that is), teach me pweeze :) Do you count to ten and breathe deeply or what? *<:)
-
I don't know. Depending on the intensity of the annoyance, I could very well be inclined to kick someone in a painful place. :-P Fortunately, this is the internet, and I can write up a terribly nasty post and then delete it for the sake of maintaining my maturity.
-
You mean, fortunately, on internet, people are not on length of your heel? *<:)

-

...Mmmmmaybe.
-
To get :focus:....
I listen to trance! Its one of my favorite genres. Basshunter, Helios, and Tiesto (not necessarily in that order) are awesome.
I still like Metal, Rock and Punk though! <^>
Well when it comes to music I listen to just about everything except hip hop. I like 70's rock and alot of 80's rock. I do like metal though, i dont find it depresing but envegerating...certain songs anyway.
Ravin, completely agree 100%! It's invigorating! I like a lot of 80s rock too, Nitro is the most awesome band from that era IMHO.
-
.....nope. Aside from Opera, that is.
