Other great Carpenter films:
Prince of Darkness, The Thing, Christine, Starman, Big Trouble in Little China, In the Mouth of Madness, Escape from New York, Escape from LA, and of course, the Halloween films..

There are also some flops in there like Vampires, and Ghosts of Mars, but all in all, he has a superlative line up of films..

It's also awesome how he writes all the musical scores for his works..

Are we related?  My brother and I used to watch Big Trouble in Little China everyday for one summer after our chores were done!  That was back when people used VHS tapes if any of you whippers knows what those are!  The Thing is one of our all time favs!  You definately have good taste in movies and music!

Your attitude is the only thing they can't take from you.

Thanks again Zak..We might be related, i've got VHS copies of 'Big Trouble', and 'They Live', and 'Mouth of Madness'.

I'll have to pick up 'They Live' on DVD sometimes soon, and try to find 'The Prince of Darkness' as well... That movie used to creep me out when i was little!!!!

I think John Carpenter is one of the best directers out there.
