EXCL: First Lost Boys 2 Casting News!
Source: Ryan Rotten
August 11, 2007

ShockTillYouDrop.com has exclusively learned from an anonymous source that the vampire-slayin' Frog Bros. - Feldman and Jamison Newlander - are indeed returning for the next "Lost" adventure...and so is Corey Haim, reprising his role as Sam Emerson.

Lensing begins, with P.J. Pesce (From Dusk Till Dawn 3) at the helm, a week from Monday.

On the newcomer tip, we've also been informed Angus Sutherland - Keifer's half-brother (and son of Donald Sutherland and Francine Racette) - will star as this film's big bad vamp.

Tad Hilgenbrink (next seen in the upcoming Amusement) and Autumn Reeser ("The O.C.") have been cast as the leads.

Hope they do not mess it up to bad

Usually when they do a 2 or 3 etc, they get pretty bad IMHO

It's a law of nature I'm told, that sequels must be poor imitations of the originals. Ever notice that whenever someone makes a spectacular sequel, they usually never get to touch that franchise again?

I only hope that both of the Cory's return... They were dreamy... :@0

I've seen The Lost Boys 2 and it was prett good, not as good as the first one but still pretty good

I just recently saw this movie.. and I wasn't sure exactly what to think of it.. it wasn't that good.. but it wasn't horrible. I can say I liked it.. of course never as good as the first :)

...Seriously?

Firstly I can't understand why anyone likes this film, its attempts at humour and horror were both cringe-worthy, but why make a sequel to it 20 years after the original, especially when the original has dated so badly and is hardly considered a classic?

EDIT: s**t, it's already out then?

If you didn't like the original why bother watching a direct to dvd sequal? Two things that automaticaly make a movie less atractive, direct-to-dvd and sequal. As for not being considered a classic. You are the only person I have ever heard say that about The Lost Boys. I have never met anyone who doesnt. So to correct you, you hardly consider it a classic. It has a giant cult following, making it a cult classic.

Why you Angelus, you beat me to the punch.

I grew up on Lost Boys, me and my wife would watch it while just hanging out, so when the new one came out, and my wife started tearing it apart, well I didn't bother watching it, but I can take straight from the horses mouth that it is crap ( you see me and my wife share the same opinions when it comes to movies, especialy horror movies, most especialy horror movies we grew up with )

  Lost Boys = CLASSIC
Lost Boys 2 = EPIC FAIL

Well said Muerte, matter of fact, you said it well enough for me to believe your review

Lost Boys 2 is one for the Fan Boys like myself. The Reign of Frogs comic book that fills in the gap between the 2 movies makes it that bit more enjoyable due to knowing the unmentioned connections between the first and second films. Such as the main characters (the brother and sister) surname is Emerson and they are the cousins of Sam and Michael Emerson of the first movie and the head vamp played by Angus Sutherland was one of the partying surfers (listening to Aerosmith on the beach) from the first movie and was bitten by David (Kiefer Sutherland) and regards him as his blood brother. Grandpa Emerson also plays a key role. Its a great comic even if you dont enjoy lost boys 2 it put a good end to the first. ie what happened to Michael and Star? Who was The Widow Johnson? And why was Grandpa Emerson so f*ckin cool? lol

I didn't bother, and don't plan to.

And I'm surprised to hear that (that it's considered a classic).  :? I always thought of it as one of those sort-of-old films that everyone liked at the time but aged horribly.
