Title: Shapeshifting
Post by: DarkMoonRising on June 20, 2009, 01:13:35 PM
Hi evrybody i'm quite new to this but i have a question.
Last night i tried to shapeshift it was my first time i followed the steps i found on the monstrous site.
So this is what happend:
I took a few deep breaths and tried to calm my mind.
My head started to jump around like it said on the site.
i tried to concentrate on wolfs and so..
Untill this i have the feeling i was awake all the time then evrything is kinda blurry
i saw this room (a bit like an indian tent, with wooden chairs and yellow and red drawings on the wall)
the next morning i woke up i had the feeling it was all a dream (seeing the room)
i don't know what it is, a dream? or reality? i heard it takes alot of energy so maybe i fell asleep after seeing the room..
(i saw the room for about 2-3 seconds)
the morning after i also smelled raw meat and blood.. while it was standing in the fridge..

i hope someone can help me!!

I cant offer much help to you on this question, I havent read what ever it was you read.

but I thought I would welcome you, and let you know you are not alone, many of us are still trying to find our way, we will help when we can, and offer suport when we cant,

and in my case, make you laugh as often as I can,
and probably piss you off from time to time,
but anyway, welcome, get to know some of us, there is much wisdom to be had, and many friends to be made.

First off welcome. Now I don't have any personal experince with this. But I can still help with what I can. What you described sounds like started a meeting with your animal spirit and could not finish. Try it again and see what happens.

Interestingly enough, there's an excellent story that you should read that will help you on your journey. It's called "The Monkey's Paw". I suggest that you read it soon, very soon.

i just saw the room for about 2-3 seconds and then it vanished, i didn't see any animal spirit to be honest.
there was a fire burning in the middle of the room and i could hear the sounds of the fire but i'm afraid that's it.

and thx i will read that story!!

Hmmm.....

Id say Oni is on to something.

does the dream progress or is it always the same?
or was it a one shot deal?

If ravinclaw is right about the animal spirit then maybe it's trying to test you to see if you're willing to be a werewolf. And i also read somewhere that only some can actualy become a werewolf. Other than that not much i can say to help

yes, Ive always thought you were either born with the gift/curse or not.

with an animal spirit or totum on the other hand, well, your spirit chooses you, not the otherway around, there can be many different reasons for it, but the wolf is a powerful totem in more ways than one, power, cunning, and perhaps best of all love, a wolf knows what it is to care for others of his own kind, and protect them to his dieing breath.

Oni is on to something. What you saw is common in Native American culture when people are starting a spiritual journey. Give yourself sometime to recover from it, it can be pretty distressing & emotionally traumatic. Once you feel you've over come this, try again, prepare yourself for whatever you might see. Control your fear since that can break any trance you may be in. Don't try to figure things out while you are in the moment just observe, let it happen. Afterwards write down whatever you see, feel, hear, etc. Don't push yourself too far, if you start feeling faint or afraid stopping may be the best thing to do then try again another time.

I'm not sure what to think about that.

Once I was sitting in my room listening to music and I tried envisioning my hand as a paw and my vision started getting out of focus and then it looked a little like a paw. It was kind of like a shadow shift.

Maybe by conciously trying to connect with this spirit you picked up a memory or thought of theirs. Keep on trying, Countess advice would work for nearly anything anyway.

Hi Moloch,

Why did you suggest reading the Monkey's Paw?  I don't get the connection (?)  Is it just a warning to be careful what you wish for?  I usually only hear people bring it up when they're worried about the manifestation of spellwork.  I usually tell people everything naturally takes the path of least resistance, and unless the worst case scenario is the quickest way from point a to b, then there's not a huge likely hood for that to happen.

I have been gone for a while.. Sorry about that..
I tried a couple of times but I just couldn't concentrate enough like the first time..
Maybe it's just because i know what i'm going to see that makes me more.. restless??
So i took some time to think about and learn more about it.. it was reckless to try it just like that and i know that

I think he tried to warn me to not mess with faith. But i'm not sure..

Maybe if you read the book, you will know what he meant.  Mo gives pretty good advice, you can learn allot from him if you listen.

Oh I certainly don't question him at all! The problem is, English isn't my first language you see. But i'll try to read it again.

^Buddy, don't take it literally. That's your number one lesson.

Haha i'm not stupid, i know i don't have to take it literally
So i was right. Don't interfere with fate.
It's just,.. if this IS my fate.. i really want to know, so i can learn how to live with it.
But allright, i'll do nothing and just wait.

Well if it is your fate, make sure you understand any risks involved. As to what those risks may be, I don't know. Not my field.
