David Carradine, 72 was found dead in Thailand.

Remind me of the death of Jacques Mayol, freediver, who also hanged himself in 2001.

I will miss him and the singular life he brought to all of the characters he has protrayed.  I think the most recent one he was in that I enjoyed was "Big Stan"  It was ....  WOW!

I heard in real life, he was alot like the character cain.
very spiritual, thats not the type of person that would hang himself.
I think something is up.

they said that it looked like a sex act gone wrong.......... It just doesn't make sense though. the lack of air alone wouldn't be able to take him down. specially since he's been a martial arts enthusiast/master for longer than i have been alive.

No the old guy knew his limits. I smell a HIT job.

Any suspects?

Another great man who died recently was Michael Jackson. For all the farked up controversy around his alleged sexual preferences, he will remain the biggest real world inspiration from my childhood.

May he never stop preforming in our hearts and minds. Well for those of us who are his fans anyway.

It just seems so wrong... He was 50.. and prepping for a comeback...... He could- no. Should  have gotten a bit more from life y'know? He didn't deserve to die as a child molesting dracula figure in the minds of the younger generation.( gawd i'm old. all 19 years of me.)
He was timeless as was his music..... As were the tabloid articles about him.

A lesson about how too much popularity can kill you.

Rest now MIcheael. Lets hope you are in a better place now, where the tabloids can't get cha.

Dear, Alcohol isn't a bad thing.  And when you get to that age sometimes its good unfocus and get sloshed up.

Alcohol has been around for years helping people deal with problems, Make babies, and Make good times better. Everyone from the higest richest chinese emperors to the poorest hicks in any slum know its taste. And how

Alcohol sometimes grants a longer life. At least my Grandpa Constantine said so. He was an alcoholic, he should know.

Screw Michael Jackson. Freaking perverted weirdo that everyone suddenly wants to make into a Primetime hero. Last Wednesday they were all about condemning him and making money off of his odd predilection for young boys, then he goes and kicks the bucket and suddenly he's everyone's hero?

No. He was a rich criminal and that's all. Forget the guy who wrote all the trash you love. This guy was only in it for the little boys he could rape.

You want tragedy? Look at the wife and kids down the street from you that are getting the living daylights beat out of them every week by their unrepentantly drunk, lazy, no good father/husband. Look at the poor college kids starving themselves so that they can have bus fare or gas money to make it to classes all week. Or how about the baby that's born in a toilet because its no account mother is too weak minded/willed to face the music and take care of it.

THOSE are tragedies folks; not Wacko Jacko's death. In fact, his death should be a holiday, world-wide; a day to celebrate the death of the most infamous celebrity pedophile in the world.

I vote that any post post that attempts to paint Wacko Jacko in a heroic or positive light in this thread be removed. He was no great man, and should not be allowed to dirty the names of truly great men with his name.

Moloch is right. Media ostrasized him when that case came into the limelight and now that he is dead they are trying to make it look like he was a saint or something. Media is messed up.

I hate that the days and nights have been filled with Michael Jackson's music on TV. I can't turn the channel anywhere without seeing him on there. Why play the man's music now? He's dead and he isn't going to know about it. Jeez, I think I'll go insane if they don't limit his appearance on the tube.
Another joke going around about the dude is that Farrah Fawcett's dying wish was for the children of the world to be safe, and then Michael Jackson died. (Don't ask me where my parents get these jokes )

Oh man that was a good one.  Laughed for five minutes moonbaby ty.  Another one to add to our list of growing dead celebrities is Mr. Billy Mayes, dead at age 50, cause as yet unknown.

For fairness sakes. We need the other side to defend the accused.

i am a fan. have been since i was 4.(i think)

He was my hero then, and i will miss his music.
you guys may not like him, but there's no need to be such an ass about it.
So you think he raped little kids? Do you have proof? Where were you when the trials were on?

So he's black-turned-white-turned-living-dead. What's that got to do with anything?

The media maybe fickle and the reporters maybe a bunch of liars. But without them i wouldn't have known a piece of my childhood had died.
On a the verge of a comeback. maybe.

People say all sorts of nasty things about everyone. And everyone's got a problem.
Just cause the guy loved kids.(there is something totally wrong about that statement, due to the connotations with pedophilia surrounding MJ's character.)
doesn't mean that he was a molester.

So he settled. Dude, sometimes people sue you for the smallest things exaggerated. AND EVERYONE KNOWS AMERICANS ARE SUCH WHINERS.(you gotta love the media for prejudice).
Don't mean he was what the media painted him. He might have been a sensitive SOB who never grew up and who couldn't stand courtrooms. (ADHD or something i dunno)

Nobody knows anything about anyone. Therefore we base our assumptions on what we can hear.
The media and those who shout the loudest are who we hear.

Most of those times, the loud ones are  just a cryin wolf for all those fools who will listen. Those who don't cry out are either dead or scared.

POint is: you cannot say that MJ/whacko jacko wasn't a great man cause you didn't know him. not really.

Oh and moonbaby? There are people who love his music. what better time to advertise and cash in when the courts hasn't decided who the rights to the music go to? No royalties!
CHA CHING BABY!

And the one about FF's dying wish.
 Funny joke. 8/10.
-2 cause MJ's death & moloch's mouth got me in a bad mood.

Hey now, I never said anything about his music. I just made light of his reputation as a pedo. The man has a very accomplished career, has some great works. But, I'll still poke fun. I enjoyed his music too(still do), but lets face it the man had a strange personal life and I'm reaping on that.

I was supposed to edit that thingy but my internet died till now. I was supposed to add moloch's statement as a quote, and say some stuff about how the media makes people who are different into celebrities making money all the way up and all the way down.

There was a bunch of stuff after that but i forget.

What I had said was that I couldn't stand any of his music and never could. So many people talk about 'Thriller' being the most awesome thing ever, but I was there, and I still didn't think it was anything special. That zipper jacket looked cool, but that's it.

Dear god... what if they recycle him instead of burying him? He is in California, and those whackjobs are totally nuts about all that environmental stuff.... speaking of which, you can't be environmentally friendly, without being mental.

True enough, al gore's a good example-nice guy but he needs to get a grip.
If they do recycle him, I wonder if wearing "real" MJ shoes will let you moon walk..right into a preschool.

What is going on in Hollywood? I used to think death came in three's, but now I think it comes in five's.
First, Michael Jackson. Then Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon, Walter Cronkite and now the one that saddens me the most. Rest in peace little pup. The Taco Bell dog has died.
I'll miss that little Mexican dog, even though he hasn't been in one of those commercials for a long time.

Hmmm, wonder which will be stuffed and displayed first.

The Jamaican-born Kirkland, 88, was a former bandleader for Otis Redding and recorded with John Lee Hooker, among others. Kirkland performed Saturday night at the Dunedin Brewery, outside of Tampa, according to his website.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Kirkland was driving his 1998 Ford Taurus when he attempted a U-turn and turned into the path of a Greyhound bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The bus hit the right side of the Taurus, pushing it about 200 yards.

No one on the bus was injured, according to the FHP. Kirkland was transported to Tampa General hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

Kirkland, who was born on a cotton plantation, moved with his mother to New Orleans when he was a year old. The two later moved to Mobile and southwest Alabama.

"That's where I came to hear the blues . . ., " Kirkland told the AJC in 1989. "My first experience with the blues was when I was a little baby about 2 years old. My mama used to take me to the cotton field and put me at the end of a row in the shade. You'd have people coming down the row, and it was a long field, and you could hear them singing. As a little baby, the music got into me."

His mother gave him a harmonica when he was 4, he said. At 12, he played guitar with the Sugar Girls Medicine Show before heading to Detroit.

In 1949, Kirkland traveled to Macon while on tour with Hooker. The middle Georgia town would later become Kirkland's home.

"If one person appreciates what I'm doing it's just as good as a million," Kirkland said. "A lot of places we've played, after I paid the band I didn't have a dime. But it was a good show. I was happy. That's it for me. It's my life."
