Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:-Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm;- Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, don't spend more than you can earn and adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights,I Want It Now,Someone Else Is To Blame,I'm A Victim.Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

It's true with a lot of the population, but I would not say all. Maybe true with 60%. A lot of people take a look at the world and decide "Everyone must be like that, thank God I'm not", but then to make that assumption would be to lack some common sense I think.

But sadly, majority is what counts in the eyes of Law and Law lost its Common sense way back...

I know majority do in fact lack common sense, but that majority tends to be concentrated in more corrupt areas. While there are some scattered here and there, I think it's still bad to go and say all common sense is gone.

I heard about the coffee woman sueing McDonalds. There was also a guy who won a case after getting bit by a dog on his a**, after climbing the fence and shooting the dog in its own yard. Then there is the woman who won a case against an rv company, because they didn't put that you can't leave the driver's seat while it's on cruise control. The company decided to go ahead and put that in incase she had relatives who wanted to buy from them.

I've heard of the same cases in my H.S sociology class...unfortunately, my classmates thought this was normal.
I miss logic...

I didn't even hear about this in class, a couple years ago a sunday school teacher at the local church got it on an e-mail and posted it on her door. We never hear about the good stuff in class. At least these morons give the rest of us a good laugh, til we read that they won the law suit.

Bah, it's not the swearing. It's the GD part of it... where as I don't mind it one bit, I don't know how many Christians are on the site, and also how many of them would be offended. I know my Grandmother would've chased me around with whatever was handy, threatening to smack me before the house caught fire for such blasphemy.  ( Which is funny, cause she's the person that supplied most of my herbs and other materials when I was younger )

At any rate, I have all sorts of Common Sense issues to share and vent about.

My Ex and I are really great friends ( suppose to be, anyhow )... But he Fails to see that asking for my advice, only to get upset with me about it, and then ignore it altogether lacks any form of Sense.

How about, the old guy at the grocery store one day; He's standing in line, just as nice as can be to everyone around him, but then when he gets up to the counter he turns into an ass! The clerk asks, "How are you today, sir?" "Great, just great. I'd be much better off if all these damn n*ggers were workin my yard though."
That's pretty bad right?
Well, the Clerk was a sweet old African lady that lives across the street from my Mother.
Naturally she got offended, and refused to take care of him.
The guy threw a big enough fit about the situation, he was removed from the store and asked not to return.

I HATE people. As a general, not really an absolute. But it IS my Mantra for when I'm driving. See, I don't have Road Rage. I have: Road Impatience for Ignorant Morons / Stupid People.
Good example, just from the other night... Instead of looking, the driver decides to come right on over into my lane. Doesn't hear my horn, because the dumbass's music is loud enough I heard it. I ended up on the shoulder, almost against the wall.
I could go on and on about the idiots around here. But I guess I'll shush for now.
