Sommers strikes back with Monster Movie : VAN HELSING

(1/1)

Desdemone:
Don't miss the son of Abraham Van Helsing, hunting three species of our favorite monsters : vampires, werewolves and the Frankenstein monster.

Deep in the mountains of Carpathia lies the mysterious and mythic land of Transylvania-a world where evil is ever-present, where danger rises as the sun sets, and where the monsters that inhabit man's deepest nightmares take from. The maker of The Mummy and The Mummy returns has used his craetive geniust to breathe another life into one of the most time honoured, not to mention copied Vampire stories of all time.

Yes, Van Helsing is based on another telling of Dracula. But, dont dismiss it, yet. Universal pictures and director Stephen Sommers have taken a classic pantheon of Monsters and brought them to life in a way you only thought it was possible to imagine, placed them onto a stunning backdrop of pseoudo reality and are ready to unleash them onto the world.

Sommer's all-encompassing vision for a world as tangible, real and visceral as any caught in the stranglehold of inescapable evil blends the recognizable and the unimaginable into a vivid, epic backdrop for his tale of ultimate evil against a lone force of a good.

Audiences will be drawn into a visionary, supernatural but seemingly all-too-real world of Sommers' singular creation-set in 19th century London, Rome, Paris and Transylvania-where mankind is in constant danger from incarnate evil in a multitude of forms. Under Sommers' hand, Dracula, Frankensteins Monster, the Wolf man and others are reborn as dynamic heirs to traditions handed down from the filmmakers of the classic monster pictures, honouring their legacy, while propelling themselves into a new Generation of cinema

For the film. Somers brings to life Dr Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman), the powerful, and enigmatic count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh), born in the pages of Stokers classic vampire novel and the three brides of Dracula, who will stop at nothind to protect their master. he doesnt stop there, though. Mary Shelleys 'Frankenstein's Monster' is given life on this picture, too. not to mention a few new characters; Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale) Teams up with hesling to rid her family of a three generation curse, Her Brother, Velkan, who transforms into a werewolf every full moon.

Altogether, the film is a great action/adventure movie, along the lines of Blade or Vampires, A great summer blockbuster.
