Question/ theories about ghosts

There have been stories of encounters with ghosts, where the ghost interacted with the person but some other stories makes you believe that the ghost was not aware of the people. That's what lead me to believe that perhaps, ghosts are just echos of the past. Not all but some. I mean it's known that wood and stone "record" events. Sometimes the events can be seen or heard. How, I do not comprehend yet. That's maybe why in some cases, the "ghost" does not interact because in fact, it is not a ghost! It's just a memory played back.

The same for ghost faces in windows, sometimes it's just a "natural photography" of a person that did live in the house. I have read somewhere that with time, chemicals accumulate on glass outside. Carbon, pollution, dust etc...and that it acts as a film, you know like in a camera so when there is lightening, if the person in the house was at the window, it would create a print of that person's face. It's not visible at the naked eye, but it is when you take a picture. It's pretty far fetched, I know but if you think about it for a sec... it's not that crazy!

But when there is interaction between the ghost and the living, you have a true ghost there!

Seems ok. I have a theory about why ghosts sometimes come on 'vistitation'. Perhaps it is our natural human curiosity to see the future that spirits come down to places they have been to marvel at the developments of the future. After all, the living have ambitions to know what the future holds, why wouldnt that carry on to the dead?

Good point. Never thought about that! There is also the fact that maybe some check on us. Like relatives.

I would probably protect my descendants, if I don't have any well, I'll be a spirit in a forest protecting the beasts!...

I think ghosts are the spirits of people who refuse to move on, or they are demons taking human form of those who are recognizable to fufill something.
