Title: thou must be punished!!
Post by: Vince_03 on January 04, 2009, 05:59:05 AM: it was dawn. a young man is being brought to the gallows by two burly men wearing black masks with only 2 slits for eye holes. a crowd is gathered as the crimianl is lead to the ropes. as soon as they reach the rope, his head is swiftly put into place. they are stunned by this criminal, faced with no resistance at all.

"read the charges!!" hollered someone from the stands.

"Vince, the 3rd. you are charged with high treason, numerous accounts of murder, blasphemy against the lord your god and to the holy papal father, and illegal practice of devil worship and other pagan practices, and finally, admitting that you are a lycanthrope."

"please, i've told you. i do not worship the devil..." he is sucker punched in the face, making his mouth and lips bleed. "silence!" shouted to him by the guards.

"the sentence will be sudden and immediate death, but, because of your confession, you will be tortured first and see if you will repent your ways. if you repent, your life will be spared."

the man, bleeding now and breathing hard, stands up and faces the crowd. "do what must be done." he said as he faces the stands.

"proceed captain." says the lords from the stands.

The figure reaches out and lays a hand on Vinces shoulder, startling the young man. At first Vince is unsettled by being touched, as the guards have moved to either side of him, and were in veiw. After a moment a feeling of peace flows through him, and smiling devilishly he yells out.

"Well your Grace, what are you waiting for. Have you lost your nerve, or do you lack the conviction of your words? I am here of my own free will, what do you wait for? Send me on to the next life, where I will sit with god, for he knows I have done nothing wrong. It is for you that I hold pity, for you will have to see him and explain why it is you justify murder in his name."

They turn back to see the stench coming from a rat carrying a bloody note, the lord closest to it covers his mouth and snatches the note as the rat runs by. The only decipherable part of the note is a name. The lord bellows "Tis the wretches name upon this note, begin the torture.", at the last words one of the guards draggs the prisoner to the water wheel. The first part of the torturing.
