Title: Trading card games/Classical RPGs
Post by: KubeSix on August 26, 2009, 07:40:23 PM
Does anybody on Monstrous play TGCs (Trading Card Games) or any classical RPGs like D&D???

I used to play Magic: The Gathering with friends, but I moved and never found anybody to play with, so I lost interest. I've also always wanted to play D&D, but it's tough finding a group of players... Played a few times, but the other guys lived too far away so we just stopped playing..

Now I really want to play a TGC or RPG T_T

I also collected Pokemon cards :-P I had the best deck EVER!! :-D Seriously, I had a farking holographic Charizard and 2 of every legendary bird along with a holographic Dragonite and Machamp... That was back when they only had the 151 pokemon (which I knew by heart, along with their numbers and order on the list :-P) Now they've got like a thousand >.> (That was when was like 7)

Used to play MTG, got really into designing decks and the trading side of it. Supply and deal .

What decks did you use? The games changed so much in such a short time.

Oh, I wouldn't remember, I played years ago... I remember it was lots of fun and I miss it, though :(

I play D&D still, the 3.5 edition though, didn't really enjoy the 4th edtion. pathfinder is worth trying. World of darkness looks like a game worth trying, though I haven't played it, but have the core rules for it.

I used to play M:tG, but a tragic run in with some area hoodlums lead to the loss of my collection.

I've also played a really fun/simple TCG called Magi-Nation.  There was a cartoon, and gameboy game, for thisgame.  After the base set though they started adding too much to the game and it fell apart.  You can still find the cards on EBay.  Few years ago I bought 6 boxes, 216 packs, of it for around $30.

If you're interested in a tactical based TCG, check out Pox Nora (www.poxnora.com (http://www.poxnora.com)).  This game plays like FF:Tactics and M:tG combined.  There are free decks you can play with to get the hang of the game.  You have to buy the runes to use in your deck if you want to upgrade them, or play for rank.  There are eight factions that each have their own strengths and weaknesses.  If you don't mind spending a lil loot on something you'll never physically hold, it a good game.

If free is your thing, check out Elements card game.  It's online, free, and fun.
