Title: Hot damn!!!
Post by: jordyn on January 02, 2013, 07:44:55 PM
Winters are long and cold around here and a lack of usual snowfall makes it all just sort of grey and...uninspiring, wondering if SAD is taking affect?

"Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression, winter blues, summer depression, summer blues, or seasonal depression, is a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year experience depressive symptoms in the winter or summer, spring or autumn year after year. In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV), SAD is not a unique mood disorder, but is "a specifier of major depression".
Although experts were initially skeptical, this condition is now recognized as a common disorder, with its prevalence in the U.S. ranging from 1.4 percent in Florida to 9.7 percent in New Hampshire.
The U.S. National Library of Medicine notes that "some people experience a serious mood change when the seasons change. They may sleep too much, have little energy, and may also feel depressed. Though symptoms can be severe, they usually clear up." The condition in the summer can include heightened anxiety"

Coming in February, Cabin Fever.  :D

Winter is hunting season.. no time to get depressed... must, eat, meat

Well i sometimes experience a lot of downs during winter, but then i think of the irrationality of the meaning of the word and human thought, how it all doesn't make sense, how reality is just an idea created by us humans perceiving through our body's made of flesh and water. Do we really exist? Does Existence exist?

Thanks to Philosophy and Psychology books i don't even know why i should feel depressed or emotional anymore. I'm lost :P

Winter although, is a little depressing. But i think its the lack of sunlight.

i think it's over in our area, now it's all about ice fishing...except for birds, bison and bobcats.  :D  The meat to eat is done though.
