Title: Curious - Who believes they aren't human?
Post by: GlassCities_ on February 20, 2010, 10:42:06 AM
Okay, so I've been reading the forums and I've noticed a lot of people believe that they are some
kind of supernatural being / not human - A lot of people believe they are werewolves or vampires.
So, what do you guys believe you are, and how do you know for sure? And do you believe the majority
of people are faking it? :) Just curious.

Most of the people on this forum will tell you they are human but happen to also be a vamp/therian. Neither is solely a supernatural being. In my opinion it's somewhat like being any other group "outside the norm" almost all are born a vamp/therian & come to realize it at some point in life. I don't think anyone on here seriously thinks they are an immortal being from beyond the grave. Some people may have "inhuman" abilities such as better hearing, site, smell, abilities to see/har/speak to the dead etc. those abilities don't make them not human just diffrent.

I'm very pale, I thrive in darkness, and human food does nothing for me. That's why I believe I'm a mushroom.

Oh wow that made my day. I didn't expect that last sentence...

I think most vamps and weres/therians are aware they're still human. Like countess said, even those who have abilities that are either superhuman or just above average are just... above average. :-P

I dont think faking being a therian is something everybody would do here. Yeh , there are some people who essentailly troll and ruin the forums by claiming to be a werewolf , etc. Been quite a few of those lately.

Im therian , but i know im human. Thats what the mirror shows.

i think a better question would be: "who is human on the inside?"

well i don't know exactly what i am, but i've known all my life for sure that i'm NOT a normie and that i'm beyond that.. the problem is that i don't know WHAT i am. That's why i've come here so that i can finally answer my life long question of the the hell am i.
If anyone is an expert on supernaturals or if i tell them the supernatural side of me and they could help me figure out what i am then PLEASE contact me...

i think a better question would be: "who is human on the inside?"

Well put,  Having been around some otherkin groups for years now, and  identifying as kin my self,  that is probably the best way of asking that delicate question.  As that right there is where a lot conflict often starts, particularly with   the younger crowds and new members, (particularly with regards to p-shift or those who claim to be  something supernatural physically)

In flesh and blood  I am human, nothing will change that....
however in spirit or soul I  feel like I'm something else entirely I'm not entirely sure what that is/was at one point I identified it as "demon" early on then as "dragon" in more recent years for lack of proper terminology, a term that's  feels much closer but still not 100%  there.

I'm just a human who likes to study the occult. There are times where I wish I could be something other than a human, but for all that it's worth, being a human is just fine. However, in relation to Carden's post, if someone isn't technically "human" on the inside, does that mean they aren't human?
Title: Re: Curious - Who believes they aren't human?
Post by: matthew321 on July 06, 2010, 04:54:44 PM
Okay everyone in a human body is human in one sense. They have the human body with the human organs. Even if they are a shape shifter, a dragon, monster, god, etc. If they are in a human body they are human.

Now the spirit that resides in the body may not be human. That is the case with many people drawn to this site. So someone could still be in a human body but have a demon spirit, or one of an angel, monster, and pretty much anything.

So are they human? Yes and no... In a human body but not a human spirit. That spirit can also affect the body and the mind. So a mermaid may have strong legs for swimming and be more inclined to sea food. They may be even possessing a talent at what they are naturally attracted too. So that mermaid spirit in the human body may be an excellent swimmer. Or maybe a professional diver, or even a marine animal trainer.

There are a few other details here but this is basic. Feel free to disagree with me (I love debates)

hmm interesting, i've never seen it that way, XD well maybe if u spread that message  matthew then so many people wouldn't think they're vamp.s or weres because of simple reasons that can be explained through common sense X)

I'm human. I'm also a vampire. But I came off the red stuff cause life's hard enough without people thinking you are crazy. Cant get the hang of the whole "pranic" thing. Only get a little bit of the red now and then.

Don't worry, I lose my socks all the time...to my roommates. And my lighters to the couch, along with change. Since I wake up easier on the couch then my bed, I sleep there more often. Dryer gnome reminds me of that "Family Guy" episode.

I do not think everyone who can be called "Homo Sapiens" is truly in that category, to begin with, but classification is something scientists (Bio) must work out with other scientists, like paleontologists, etc. and that will go one forever for them, until they cease to be.
I am not a were/therian, I am not a vampire, as I am the same chain of those who have come through the bloodline of Earth, and none of us are quite "human" either, and I think that it's really whatever needs to spring from us, anyway, and eventually "homo sapiens" will be meaningless, to end with. It is because things beyond us (like, say, the Elder Gods and their Nemesis, the Old Ones, are at hand.)

saying homo sapien will become meaningless is like saying humanity will be meaningless...for all the spark, talk and insistence such proponents have yet to prove that any human is anything else but human...and any original child of the earth would be citing references to more shamanistic religions and symbols, they didn't have a dualistic system and were the origin of all our myths and mysteries...not science fiction and fantasy that has a ring of truth from clever authors.

you can't prove gods, they've always been intangible and enigmatic creatures mystically tied to us; however anything someone insists is based in the tangible world should be able to demonstrate it to other tangible beings...otherwise it's no different than psychic phenomena and just a physical perception by the brain.

when i see a *insert fantastic creature" i'll give some credence to claims of shape shifters, until then it's like God and a matter of belief and personal projection, there's more proof for bigfoot, and he'd work as a probable link with the fossil record.

I had oysters for supper. Except
they were therian oysters,

i mean they looked like oysters, smelled like oysters, even tasted like oysters, BUT
because i am psychic i know they were really
'were sausages'.

I ate them on my kitchen table which is not really a table,
its actually an airplane.
It doesnt actually fly, but it does 'g shift'. When shifting like this it appears to be hovering resting on the ground.
It only does this when the chairs aren't watching though.

Life was much simpler when i was younger. Things were what they appeared to be. These days you have to be soooooo careful.

I'm not sure I'm human.  I could be someone's dream or a computer simulation for all I know.  I do know that I don't want to be human but that desire does not lead me to convince myself that I'm a therian, or indigo child, 5th dimensional, or any special category.

There are so many "abnormal" people out there that, while by definition abnormal can't be normal, the abnormal have a lot in common with each other.  When I went to a Morbid Angel/Behemoth concert, everyone was wearing black and/or goth makeup.  I saw a sea of conformity.

I do have some sociopathic tendencies in thought and sometimes deed though I don't see myself as particularly monstrous.  More of a monster than most people I meet though I don't see all of them so I can't really know if they're a monster or not.

The Universe seeks a state of homogeneity. Conformist behavior in humanity is nothing but a microcosmic display of a macrocosmic phenomenon.

He would, but due to certain promises he is unable to.  Trust me when I say you should be happy for it.

He could PM me.

I could, but then I would not have nearly as much fun.

Oh, and Muerte and CP are both correct. Listen to their most excellent advice.

Ah, I see.  No PM's for me.  :-(

I thought you were already forcing us to suffer with your PMS?

Oh, you said PM's... my bad.  *<:)

Rav bro, what's he too scared to say? He seemed to outline his viewpoint pretty darn well if you ask me. Also to bring the topic back to this:

Quote
Whether you like it or not, we are all human, but our degree of humanity can vary greatly.

This is true and ties in so well with what countess said at the very start. We are all human, that is the form we take. What our soul feels most connected to, how we feel, how we behave, how we think determines something far greater than whether we are homo sapiens or not. It determines our humanity. Or in other words, how human we are.

Without the physical limitations of sustaining a human body though it seems people could be whoever and whatever they want.

I believe I may be a werewolf or therian. I'm currently looking for help on this matter, as I have little knowledge gathered at this time.

The people who say they are "werewolves" and therefore not human are foolish.
You are human. Learn about your werewolf myths.

I'm very pale, I thrive in darkness, and human food does nothing for me. That's why I believe I'm a mushroom.

That made my day (:
