Has any one bought a faerie door? If so has it worked?

I am at the moment making a faery door.
I had a massive tidy of my room and instead of throwing old copies and posters and stuff away, I'm using them and some old wood to make a faery door. I've read alot about them, and, ofcourse, seen them in alot of shops, but I wouldn't go for something made for a shop. I think it will have a much better effect as I've made it myself...

Would someone mind explaining faerie doors and what they do?? I like the idea of making something yourself... I'd love to hear about this...

Traditionally a faerie door is a door that is used by the fey to gain entry. By placing one in your home it is an open invitation to any fey. Making one embues it with your energy & makes a more attractive portal. One made by a machine or bought in a store may work but most likely is just a cute decoration. Does that help? If you have any other questions just ask!

Making one is pretty easy. It can look anyway you'd like a doorway a stone arch anything. Putting food & drink like milk or honey by it as a gift will help to attract fairies. It may sound silly but vocally announcng that this is a door for the fey will help too. Place it by a window or on a wall that is facing the outside since the fey are nature beings.

And I'm guessing it doesn't have to be big... Not even a foot tall... probably more like 7 inches or so.... right?

I'd say that all depends on the fae... :roll:

anything natural will work. Certain fey will be more drawn to certain items. Yes certain fey can be dangerous but you can find ways to keep make it a little safer. One way is to make the door specifically for a type of fey. Research fey & you will find each has it's own favorites for color, drink, food, flowers, etc. Many also have things they despise or work to keep them away. The thing is that all fey can be mischevious so if you have a hard time handling practical jokes, don't invite the fey in. I don't know how you feel about protective spells/prayers but if you do believe that would work as well & can be geared towards only letting in those who mean no harm.
