Title: Beastie
Post by: leshy on December 20, 2008, 11:39:28 AM
This big fella was supposedly photographed not too far from where I live this past March. I recall that during the time of this sighting  there was a big fuss about a cougar wandering around, but this guy obviously is not a cougar. I think the cougar was shot and killed eventually anyway. I don't particularly believe that the photo is actually real, but just thought I'd ask anyway- anyone know what this animal could be? It's not a wolf or a dog, the tail is feline. It's not a cougar either, the snout is too long, like a canine.

The body is that of a canine with mange. The "face" looks to have been edited in or massively altered & resembles a panther (cougar). I don't think this is anything special, probably a fuzzy pictue of a wolf or dog with mange that has been enhanced to appear to show an unknown animal.

The body structure is nothing like a canine, Countess
However, having seen mutated dogs before, I wouldn't rule out that it's simply deformed.

I have seen the face trick happen with my own dog when taking pictures. What happens is the snout aligns up directly with the line of sight, creating an optical illusion where the snout looks shorter.

Actually, it's perfectly canine. I see animals with mange at least once a week at work. This is what a wolf looks like when it is in the late/severe stages.

Guess that explains why the legs, joint placement, and shoulders are very different from a regular wolf, huh?

well its canine with mange, the ears are probly normal though because they can put them down like that. as for the tail its bald from the mange. when you do first look at it it looks like some moneky cat hybrid :|, but that just me
