They've been having a lot of shows lately on the history and even military channel discussing the scientific discoveries pertaining to biblical stories, and while generally the timeline seems to be off, general science is able to explain how it was possible for the natural disasters and land formation to make them, practical.
I have my own theories on how that would relate to some control by a Divine Creature, but other scientific explanations would be interesting to discuss, it's all theory until proven.
