Funny, because I can hold my own physically, but it's mind games that are my strong suit. Seen it time and time again, the person that has mastered games of the mind can overthrow the leadership of the physically stronger one.

Arctic, no matter the disaster, we would find a way to survive the initial threat and those that follow. We were born to adapt.

Like I said, animal love me. And hunting them, well, it is an easy thing to do. Easier than some will make it seem at least. Especially since I've found it extremely easy to lay 'traps' of sorts for the animals. I don't think we would need to make new weapons, considering that a knife can last you a long time if you know how to maintain it. But if it comes down to it, I can fashion weapons made for hunting or weapons made for 'self preservation'. By that of course I mean fighting off other people, and whatever the disaster itself creates. Also have learned quite a bit in carpentry and such.

I wouldn't want to be a leader (lot of pressure and responsibility) but would be if it came down to it. People tell me I'm a natural leader, but I just don't see it.

I think Vicious and I would get along quite nicely in an End of the World scenario.
We seem to have alot in common... Survivalist upbringing here.

I was put into the leadership role when we had a train crash in my town, both light-rail commuter trains...Everyone was like scared rabbits until Lex, My Mom and I took charge...Here I was, just waiting for the train to go to a Vikes game, BOOM, thrown into leadership role in an Emergency AGAIN!

I've been on a losing team with strangers only to pull a win on a team that has been working together for years. Not the best example I know lol, but I haven't been in any disasters other than family matters. And I'd rather not post those here lol.

Lets us see... Train crash, F-2 Tornado, F-4 Tornado, Massive Ice Storm in '05, '07 2-week Power Outage...never a dull moment around here, and I always have all the s*it to deal with too!

But my part of the US seems to have more disasters than a lot of other parts of the US...aka Tornado Alley!

And don't even get me STARTED on family matters

I should have said 'I haven't been in charge during any disasters', because I've been in quite a few. But when it comes to being in charge, well, no one is in charge with my family. We know how to take care of ourselves and each other, and are stubborn enough not to take orders from others. There are only 3 things I say I inherited from my dad; his hair, his stubbornness, and his anger. I've only tamed one of those so far, and it's the anger.

People seem to always FORCE me into that role though! The Power Outage, everyone seemed to need help at the same time, and wanted to use MY generator to charge something rather...I let them, but I said to myself "God, this is 2-weeks, what if the power were out for a year or two O_O"

And my strength was needed to get people out partially-destroyed houses and stores and help at the damaged school after the Tornadoes. Oh, and tornadoes not striking the same place twice is a myth, they have torn up 7th Avenue in my town twice now and I live on Main, just off of 7th...My town is cursed, were the Tornado Capital of MN, I swear!

I inherited my Dad's Leadership, His Hunting/Warrior Instinct, His addictive tendancies and my Viking-like looks, but I got my Tallness (she herself is 6'2" and I'm 6'11"), Artistic side, Voice, Way-of-thinking, stubbornness and spiritualism from my Mom...I'm a stubborn Viking b*stard and I like it that way!

Sounds like a good reason to move lol.

I'd say the hunter/warrior is in all of us, just another one of those things that have been dulled by their own hand. Same with instincts, we all have them, but again most people's instincts are dulled.

Artistic side, lol, no one passed that on to me. It's always been a part of me, what with my imagination (that has a mind of it's own it seems lol), but no one in my family can create anything that isn't for work. Still, my parents were good and fed my imagination/creativity as much as they could, and my sisters have done the same for their children (all but one I mean).

And that's why my state sucks I guess...tornadoes! Talk of Hell from Heaven! But I'm moving to Puerto Rico in a year, so its all good...

Hunter/Warrior dulled? I've never dulled it in the least and would shudder at the very thought! I personally just freaking LOVE to hunt period, but with bows and arrows or a crossbow, it's more elegant and more of a challenge...but can use spears and shotguns/rifles/hunting pistols too...that's part of my Were, my wolf is a serious hunter...I have the tracking, trapping and camouflage instincts too...Sorry, I ramble a bit when I talk of hunting

Read the Art and Wolf thread, to know how obsessed I am with art...my families weird, my brother Pat is an extreme nerd and goes to magnet school, but I am a dramatic artist and went to arts school, little bit of everything!

I'm not saying yours are dulled, I'm saying everyone has the hunter/warrior inside them, but it isn't as prominent (is that even the right word?) because they have dulled it. Like a blade that isn't maintained.

Hunting with a bow is cool, not my kind of thing though. Although I do enjoy archery. Again, not something I learned, just picked up a bow and had fun with it. Like I said, I'm a traps man myself. Though nothing I learned, just things I come up with myself. Pretty much a knife is all I want, but a rifle I do practice with (not on animals, other things) because it is a skill that is good to have.

Lol Art School isn't for me, but still cool you went. I've read the thread so I know what you're talking about, I was just talking about my own background.

Modify Don't get me wrong here, I'm sure I'm no where near as good with a bow as you are. I reread it and felt I undermined your skills a bit, so thought I'd clear it up. Everyone has a field they are more proficient at, and mine in this case would be mind games. And yes, I do count traps as mind games.

I didn't think you were undermining me at all! And I really am probably not as good with traps as you are, I'm more for the "active" approach to hunting, more fun that way!

Oh, I know, I was just proving how prominent mine are...Mine are like a Surgeons scalpel, if I use your analogy!

I don't deny myself the inner wolf in any way...hunting is a part of that for me...

I prefer it with a bow or spear...it's more "primal and instinctual" that way, which I prefer even more (aka Inner Wolf). I'm not half bad with knives, I can throw them so they can hit the same target and knock the previous knife off the target...I do that when bored sometimes for fun...I can throw Axes too, but I'm not as good at that as knives...

Oh, and the warrior half...I'm not a martial artist, but I'm really good at hand-to-hand combat, I'm good with firearms, knives, Know stealth, tracking and camouflage. I'm fiercely loyal and will defend those I love at any cost...I

*HOWLS at top of lungs, growls, snarls* - Okay, now inner wolf wants to kick some @$$!

I know that feeling lol, maybe there's an inner wolf next to my inner child  . I know the thrill of not setting traps, rather hunting the prey down yourself. But the thrill you get there, I get with coming up with the trap and creating it, then again when it works lol.

Completely with you on that, use to sneak around a lot as a kid. Not in some perverted way, before anyone's minds jump there, rather for fun. And while yours are a surgeon scalpel, mine would be the same sharpness, but in a retractable blade sort of way. You seem more open with your skills, but I prefer to keep things hidden until they're necessary. Don't get me wrong, I don't let them dull, I simply keep them sharp in private. And when my anger takes over, man, that can be trouble. I'm one of those people that, when angry, pretty much internally blacks out and instinct takes complete control. Hence why I've had to tame it.

*Growls...still wants to kick some @$$...wants to kill-bite something, Feels like blood is on fire*

But I haven't really tamed this part of myself yet very well...

I let my skills be known so people don't Eff with me, my pack or my family! I've almost killed a few people in blind rages with my bare hands, and while I'm not proud of that...I still wear that as part of the "bloodlust" card I have...

The hunting and lust instincts are the hardest for me to control as a Were...

I think I would be a rather good person for anyone to have on there side in a Post-Apocalyptic situations, as mind games are one of my specialties...I'm VERY persuasive...Charm, Bribery, Coercion, Diplomacy etc. could all be weapons I may use, if it keeps our...would tribe be the right word?...safe!

There is a very strong possibility of that VM! You could be a Therian! I have both an inner child (age 14 abouts) and an inner wolf...

You cant always beat them with your fists; you have to be able to beat them with your mind. Not that it isnt important to physically be able to handle yourself and weapons in a survival situation. Survival is about 90% mental-and you truly dont know how you'll respond until you're actually in a disaster situation-some people will emerge as leaders and others will fall apart-there was a 20/20 about that-why some people can handle themselves and some cant

But I can still be very persuasive and very good mentally...I'm both street smart and book smart. I know how to communicate REALLY well and have COMMON SENSE (which a lot seem to lack nowadays)! I can be very good diplomatically, I'm a good problem solver and conflict resolver, and I have that natural leadership I talked about, people seem to WANT me to lead! I know when to be ruthless and when to be compassionate...and when diplomacy just won't work and the fists or swords or w/e is gonna have to come out :-P

I wouldn't lose my head...what I said about being more suited to either prehistoric or post-apocalyptic times still stands...I'd probably live a happier life that way then I do right now!
