Title: Threat To Memphre
Post by: Devious Viper on September 12, 2006, 04:48:12 AM
Quebec and Vermont's shared Lake Memphremagog monsters, the Memphrés, are under threat by the removal of conservation lands and expansion of landfills from the Canadian side. The September 2006 issue of the Magog  The Outlet raises concern over the Canadian government's plan to sell off portions of Mount Orford Park on the shore of Lake Memphremagog for development purposes. There are also worries about a plan to expand two landfill sites, both of which empty into Lake Memphremagog. The Memphré are first named by the late, legendary cryptozoologist Jacques Boisvert, who also first coined the phrase Dracontology for the study of lake cryptids.
