Thanx. I that last one just happened on feb.20th last week . Hopefully things will get better in my life though, like for example, my b-day is march 2nd.

Ok, I haven't had much free time to write, but I am sure that once my writing juices get going again, this thread will be alive again.

I have a bunch from old contests when I was younger - let me dig them up   

Through My Eyes

Through my eyes, I see the trees,
The trees that sway and drop their leaves.
I watch the colors as they sway,
And see the changes everyday.
My world flies as leaves blow through,
And I see the life - I feel it too.

Through my eyes, I see the deer,
The deer so graced, so quiet, so sheer.
I watch her drink and gaze this way,
And regret when she runs away.
My world leaps with the deer as it bounds,
And I follow - hardly making sounds.

Through my eyes, I see the fox,
The fox that ducks and weaves across.
I watch him dart through the woodland,
And hope to see him again so grand.
My world turns while watching him go,
And I see him hiding - keeping low.

Through my eyes, I see the birds,
The birds that sing and makes themselves heard.
I watch them flutter about with ease,
And wish I could follow them past the trees.
My world stops for their sweet song,
And I imagine - for this I long.

Choose to Take the Right Path

When at once you come to a fork in the road,
Put yourself in thinking mode.
Look to your left and look to your right,
Decide carefully, for you just might...

Take the narrow and steep path
That winds around a mountain track.
Up to highness, up to greatness-
You can soar above the ages.

Or walk the broad path of regret and sorrow,
Keep walking on - on to the morrow.
Walk the easy path that leads to a sorrowful ending
Keep on walking without your heart mending.

Choose to take the narrow ledge-
The way that might have a challenging edge.
I would rather tread through the rocky soil,
than waltz along as if I were royal.
