What a sad bunch of lonely delusional children. A pack is, for wolves in the wild, little more than a nuclear family. For those who don't know what that is, it consists of a mommy, a daddy, and their puppies. It's not a bunch of delusional yet like minded morons who band together to hang out at the mall or other such spots to talk about how "not human" they are. Friends are just friends. They are okay to have around, but they're never the same as family. My wife, my son, and my two dogs are my "pack" or, simply, family. A friend could never even get close to replacing any one of them. Of course this is all just my opinion.
manners please... wolve packs do tend to exist out of more than just a mommy a daddy and their pups... but they are indeed usually family (nephews, cousins, nieces, uncles and aunts too). I do find your choices of words disturbing... anyway I'm not sure if it falls within the borders of the rules, I'dd have to check it... But I agree, someone has been watching too much Twilight or smth like that or has a little fantasy in their heads that they think is truth...

@ Lady_wolf... we do NOT work that way, alpha's in human terms are those that take charge and can make others follow them, they are either intimidating or real leaders... pure strength does not cope to be a pack leader...

If you are going to make a post like this one, do us and yourself a favor. Get your facts straight. A mother, father and babies....for f**cks sakes havent you ever seen a nature program? That is all it takes anyone to have done to know you havent a clue as to what you speak of. Im not saying I compleatly disagree with everything you stated, but damn! How can you expect anyone to listen to you after proving you know nothing at all about Wolf packs???  In A Thread About Packs!!! Think about it!!

That is utterly untrue!!!! Even wolf packs number around 20, 30 or so....

:focus: My "pack" is only four people sadly, me, my girlfriend, my Vampire friend and my best-friend Raccoon Therian...

"Pack" is more of a family for me. Not necessarily blood family but, for lack of a better term, "spirit/soul" family. And even though I'm pretty sure Hati is gone, everyone is right. A traditional wolf pack does consist of relatives but is in no way simply "mom, dad, puppies" if this were true not only would fewer males be born into litters, there would not be enough new genetic material entering the bloodline to keep it going past a few generations. Do your research & you will find that like most pack animals, at sexual maturity or shortly before, most younger males go off on their own.  They start their own packs by recruiting females away from their current pack. Some males do remain behind or join other existing packs. Packs frequently, or at least used to, number upwards of 30 at times.

Exactly, upwards of 30! I'm glad Hati is gone (if he is ), he offended me, my pack is more together than me and my *real* family right now! We're so close, It's also a running joke that the other two should get together since we already have one lycan couple in our pack, how do you think a Vamp-Raccoon couple would work out!!  *<:)

I hear you Draco! Apparently Were's are really rare in Minnesota (and the Virgin Islands)...where me and my FIANCEE respectively come from...my pack is kind of odd, there's only three of us "animalistic ones" (two Were's and one Therian) and two Sang Vamps, the pack grew before it split up...but we're still spiritually together, despite being spread across the US, Canada, and (soon to be) Caribbean.

My Vamp friend Amanda married another Vamp named Jo and moved back to her home, Montreal, and my Racoon-Therian friend Dom is engaged a "normal" gal named Sam and lives in LA now...Me and Lexie are now engaged too, and expecting a baby, we live in Minneapolis right now, but will likely be moving to San Juan in a year...

I wish I was part of one. I constantly crave`support of other therians. Being a wolf therian, I crave the feeling of belonging. Sometimes I feel all alone - and I just need someone who understands.
If you can't beat 'em - join 'em.

If ever you need to talk Thirteen PM me or you can join me on FB...you could try to start a pack...and you'd be alpha that way... 8-)

If I'm not being weird or inappropriate...Maybe you can find a girl Therian if your not already involved with someone? Ever since my pack split up, it's kinda fun being a rogue Were couple for me and Lexie... :-P We totally howled together to the song "Bad Romance" together down the I-35 today, for no reason except it was fun! Amanda would have kept us quite or just to singing and Dom can't stand Gaga, but we did what we wanted! You'd have the support of another Therian in your case, it would cure the feeling of loneliness...it's a win-win...

I totally get that, unfortunautly, I was involved with another Were previously - she was much to intense for me though. I need to be in control *puffs out chest* But I do have a special woman in my life, my little mortal <3 <3 <3, but I mean, I'd like a support group. Someone who I could count on. I dunno, one day I'll find what I'm looking for.

And thanks Arctic! I'll keep up with you on the werewolves den.

*Puffs out chest* comment nearly killed me LMAO... 8-)

Good thing we created our own forum, huh?

There's one secret about co-Were relationships, it's the same as with real wolves...the female Were always leads

And besides, I like intense...LOL

I understand the support group beyond mate as a need, I just thought I'd mention it as a possibility...

And if you ever saw me, 6'11" tall, 285 lbs, muscular frame and shoulder length blond hair coupled with my extraverted personality...not exactly "little" huh... :-P

actually it does count, in nature it's usually the same race, but as we are all in body humans it's still the same, just our souls are different, it has nothing to do with knowing once soul form or heritage... it's about getting things done together, not only hanging out with eachother. It's about conquering your problems with those close to you and the other way around, helping eachother survive.
That is the core of a pack, flock, school, etc etc
Animals (and humans) pack together to raise the chances of survival. :)
flocks and schools (not an educational school, but like fish) use it to increase survival from predators, whereas packs, like wolves, use it to use hunting strategies.
Human groups are kind of an inbetween as we used strategies to hunt but also formed groups to intimidate predators and in the worst case allowing more of the group to get away.
Fight for those you've lost and fight for those you don't want to lose! -LeXtruX-
