Title: The twin positions
Post by: oldbill4823 on February 19, 2011, 01:50:52 PM
Here is a little challenege with some startling results for those that are successful.

Next time you fall asleep stay in that physical position. Then inside the dream lie down in your dream body and fall asleep in your dream body in the same position as your physical body.

Then write up the results here.

Success will bring an instant unforgettable prize.

I used to be able to do this... minus the dream part. I would lay down (like I was in a coffin, hands across the stomach and all) and stay like that until I woke up in the morning. The reason behind it was cause my ex (who happened to be my boyfriend at the time) said that every time I moved in my sleep I would wake him up. So I started to sleep in one position. I can't do it anymore, unless I really try, but now I end up with kinks in my neck if I do it.

It took me a week to get it down pat, and as soon as I stopped sleeping in my futon, I stopped sleeping in one position.

Sounds like an interesting task! Will try it out tonight. Here's to seeing if I can do anything with it.

I'd like to share a little something, here. I'm not sure if this was the result others experienced, and I can assure you it is not an easy thing to try, but I didn't really know where else to say it.

I'd had one sort of "astral projection" experience (in a manner of speaking) before at a younger age, and last night, I'd managed to do this, more or less, about three times. I don't know why or how, but sometime while I was dreaming, I'd realized I was dreaming, and I'd found my body and entered it - not in the same pose, but I'd just entered it. Upon the joining of my self and my body, for lack of better terms, I'd felt vibrations in my chakras - especially in my neck area. It was a very, VERY strong vibration, and it left me in a state of utter calm. Once my body had completely joined together with my self, the vibrations stopped. And then I'd gone through the process again - leaving my body, and this time being completely aware of what I was doing. I did this, as I said, three times. As a result, I'd been able to wake up an hour earlier than usual whilst feeling as though I'd had the best sleep I'd had in weeks. (I suffered insomnia earlier this year.)

It was a very, VERY interesting and calming experience for me, and I hope that tonight I'll be able to do so again. I'm not sure if this was the intended result, but it was what I'd gone through.

Well I am certainly pleased with a challenge where the answer can be found by sleeping on it.  :)zzz (I also get to use this icon without being rude)

I shall attempt this indeed.

I was finaly able to lay down in my dream in the same position, but wasnt able to make myself go to sleap in the dream. Oh well, its a step I guess.

I have yet to dream to date, but I will continue to try.  Perchance I need a few sleeping pills to help me get completely under, I sleep very lightly and any sound wakes me instantly.

Muerte - have you tried sleeping in total dark? I have a very hard time going to sleep, if anything, and like you, I wake up at sudden sounds. Sleeping in total dark helps a lot. That means closing all the blinds, making sure televisions have cooled down so they're pitch black... etc. Just a thought.

That's going to be hard.  My wife sleeps with at least one light on so she can see if she has to get up at night.

Good efforts so far AWB. The experience of the body shaking and extreme peace is not the intended result here but none the less a very good discovery en route.
Lets just call it an accidental discovery whilst looking for something else. You can use this discovery to help you hunt the main prize which is still waiting.

For any others trying this challenge replicating AWB's result is not necessary to achieve the main goal. It can help but dont focus on this.

Achieving the goal of falling asleep inside your dream in the same position of your physical body leads to a very specific experience. Its a bit like finding gold treasure, but in a very real spiritual format.

Happy hunting.

Thanks OldBill! I wouldn't say it was shaking, I just felt vibrations in my neck area. Next time I attempt to do this, I'll try to go into the exact same position as my physical body (which I did not attempt). Looking forward to it again!
