A year has passed since the man known as Baseline Killer started his rampage by sexually assaulting two teenage girls, in Phoenix.
He's believed to be responsible for eight murders, 11 sexual assaults and eight robberies.

The Baseline Killer's latest crime is dated at the end of June, when Carmen Miranda, mother of two, was snatched from a carwash and murdered.

It was the latest of 22 incidents attributed to the Baseline Killer. More than 30 people have survived attacks though their description of the man lacks specifics, as victims have been approached from behind or in the dark.

He is described as a dark-skinned male, 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds with a thin to medium build. The killer varies his hairstyle, wears a long-sleeve shirt and different hats.

His first two crimes were sexual assaults, his third a robbery. Then, on Sept. 8, he killed a 19-year-old woman in Tempe. Since then, the killer has struck as much as he would.

Experts on serial killers say residents should not relax. With all the attention on the Serial Shooter case, they fear the Baseline Killer could strike again in an effort to regain the spotlight.

Last Wednesday the Police released reports about the way the killer operates.
They show that sexual assaults have ranged from fondling to oral sex and rape. Many victims even had conversations with the man before they were attacked. He appears to always carry a gun, and often threatens to shoot and kill victims.

Since February, only one victim has survived an attack by the suspect.
She had just walked out of a check-cashing business when she saw a man in a mask pushing a shopping cart. He ran up to her, pointed a gun and told her to give him a ride. He told the woman to take her clothes off and she refused to perform oral sex, careless of his threatens to kill her. Before taking her keys and running away, she told the man he would have to shoot her in the back.
She is still alive and able to tell her story.

It angers me this sucker hasn't been caught! :evil:If the have someone able to identify..I don't know just seems like law enforcement is dragging there as$. They have his m.o. ID & dna what the heck? Are the victims from a poor demographic or ehnic?(just wondering). We have a serial rappist beginning to murder type hand loose terrorizing south side. That area is strongly ethnic. Its like the police turned a blind eye to this case. Its horrible that it takes black rights activist intervening to get this guy hunted down.

It seems like all the victims apparently reported different versions on how this guy looks like. He's been either a chamaleon, very skilled in the use of disguises, or just lucky because the victims who survived his attacks were just far too scared or shaken to remember his appearance, which is understandable. I do not know if the police gave this perp the "attention" he deserves: I get these news on Internet as over here the Baseline Killer's crimes don't make the tv news  :doh:

Yeh I'm sure there's much better news 4 tv than a serial rapist/killer.

The ridiculous pardon  :| ? Oh, maybe the Italian religious heads complaining for Madonna's gig... very important news, stuff I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss  :-D

Don't forget the mel gibson hayday. All over the place Msnbc had a melathon. I think there are a couple of wars going on right now!!
