The topic is the same as the title, you get 2 votes.

I chose Norse mythology, I'm partly descended from the vikings and I live in a climate similar to that which spawned these tales.

I also choose Japanese mythology because the Japanese legendary creatures are just so weird. . .
I have multiple personalities, one is a were-Sheepenguin, one is a fruit vampire, one likes to imagine cruel and unusal totures, that one's name is Bob the VI.

Other for Celtic, because the same reason you chose Norse, my heritage.

Second was Native American because my boyfriend is Native American and the myths and speeches always fascinated me ever since I was a little girl.

These were tough choices though... :-(

Yeah, I chose other simply cuz the only real myths I love are the ones about Dragons and the Fae from Europe.
Gabriel, "Don't kill yourself for it would crush my angelic heart. I love you for who you are and I'm glad I met you. :]"

"I'm going to break him, and there will be blood."

Ugh, I don't have the patience to read that old stuff the oldest I can read with out becoming a zombie would be literature from around the time Dracula was published and all that, anything futhur back just takes too much concentration for a male in highschool. . .

I'm guessing that you're not a big fan of mythology in general, then? That's a pity. Some of those ancient tales could give the best comic books a run for their money.

It's not that, just that the language and stuff is so archaic that it's plain hard to read, I enjoy mythology as a whole but I prefer it to be in a more modern format. . .

I enjoy both Norse and Egyptian myths. They always seem so familiar and close to me....  have no clue why

I love the classics - Greek/Roman would have to be my favorite, though I enjoy them all. I just love being knowledgable and being able to tie refrences - besides loving the mythology itself.

My favorite god/godess in greek mythology is Artemis, goddess of the hunt.
"We're all one race - human" ...Really?

My favorites are Japanese, Greek/Roman and Korean mythology. Greek/Roman has always  interested me, when I was a kid I used to watch Hercules and Zena on the tube for hours. Then I started to watch anime, and Japanese mythology started to peek my interest as well, so I started to look into Korean mythology since I'm half Korean. I love mythology, it's just so interesting! :D

"For those who say I am evil; hear this, what you hold in such disdain is my humanity."

Loki

I love all mythologies but I really enjoy Hindu (pre vedic) mythology, it is the grandfather of all European mythologies and there are so many monsters and gods.
The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world that he did not exist." - Charles Baudelaire (French and monstrous poet).

it wouldn't allow me to vote because my computer was slow...

I would have chosen Native American mythology and other. My other mythologies which I was surprized not to see would have been Middle Eastern mythology (Sumer, Babylon, Hittite etc.) and Hindu mythology. Hinduism has great stories full of war and trying to obtain peace (spiritual enlightenment or earthly peace). My independent study (I.S.) is looking at Dark Goddesses and their transformations. I am trying to figure out what a Dark Goddess is so I am looking at Kali from Hinduism and Lilith from Judaism.

Your research project sounds very intriguing. Is your aim to determine which societal factors were responsible for the gradual evolution of the two deities that you're researching?

On an unrelated note, my answer to the question posed by the thread's creator would have to be Native American, Mesoamerican( Maya and Aztec), Persian and Greek  mythology. Persian mythology is especially fascinating because it establishes the paradigm for the good versus evil scenarios that would later dominate mainstream religions like Christianity. As for the Greek and Mesoamerican mythologies, they played a significant role in moulding the  political systems of some of the most complex and interesting ancient civilizations to ever come into existence.
