Im  just wondering. How do you really turn into a zombie? Im blank :?.
We all wonder about one thing here. Can we create a virus or raise the dead or even talk to the dead?

Keep watching TV and accept the nightly news as the whole truth. McDonalds and Wal-Mart will help speed up the process...

But seriously, it's a complicated matter which takes place in a chemical reaction. In equal parts alchemy, voo-doo, and science..... :-o

Anhydrotetrodotoxin 4-epitetrodotoxin.

It's a neurotoxin that is believed to be the main active ingredient of Haitian zombie powder.

Hm. Unhelpful answer, in retrospect. My original post was a little tongue-in-cheek. sorry

There is a school of thought that believes that the zombies reported in voodooin contemporary times are not actually dead, but have first been put into a state mimicking death by use of a neurotoxin (in this case "TTX", the chemical named above). They are buried, but after dark dug up again by the zombie master, who then keeps the "zombie" in a mindless state by use of hallucinogenic and psychotropic drugs.

A great movie, "The Serpent And The Rainbow" (loosely based on a book by Wade Davies) used this as its central theme. I don't have the references to hand (I'll dig them up...pun intended  later) but there are a few cases where this seems to have been borne out.

Hey is that the stuff from the puffer fish??

What do you want, you moon-faced assassin of joy?

We walk in the dark places no others will enter. We stand on the bridge and no-one may pass. We live for the One, we die for the One

Yes, the very same. It is also found in a species of newt, toad and some flatworms, I understand.

I remember a movie called "Serpent and the Rainbow"  (1988) by Wes Craven
dealing with stuff like that

" I want to hear you scream!"

Yup, that's the film I was referring to.

Don't bury me...I'm not dead!

I saw it on its release at the cinema here in the UK; I seem to recall I was on a date. Great movie - didn't speak to my date for 98 minutes!
