You're only partially right, Angelus. But it is black magic, and is harmful to the practitioner in the long run.

Countess

This is slightly off topic but I just had to say something about Moloch's post. That is the best definition of black magic I've ever heard. Magic should be helpful for the practitioner (good/white magic) so it follows that magic which has a negative affect on the practitioner would be black. Even if, as I do, you believe there is no truly black/white magic simply the intention behind it, this is a great way to explain to the lay man the diffrence.

Thundergod

the ignorant people though, that's say for example most Christians believe all magic to be evil (if it isn't ruled a "miracle") . so good luck explaining it to those kind of people. a more open minded person could totally understand that the magics are not split good evil but more intention based. can you not even call upon the spirits for good cause ? maybe your parents or grandparents for guidance or something idk.
We are all monsters in some way.

...................... Aren't people more open minded  than this?
I mean, what's magical for one may be a coincidence for another and a wonderfully well researched phenomena applied to achieve a tangible effect for another? Different things for different people.

ah in a perfect world maybe raz. . . no people are not more open minded. if someone see's something that you have and they want it badly enough they are gonna either try to take it, have you give it to them, or just kill you because then it wouldn't exist at all. humans tend to fear that which we do not understand, even if it just means a change of perception.

there are a lot of people that act otherwise.

People do tend to fear what they don't understand.Me, I fear what scares the crap out of me. But sooner or later I understand it and laugh of that fear I have. Also to the topic: Yeah people do not understand Necromancy, except that they think of it as a black magic. Even though my family is Christian, I really couldn't care less for religion. I understand what I want to even if it scares me. Alot of Christians make people want to know that there is a poweful "Creator" of us. The way I see it is that it's a way to say how life began. I said what I want to, Mental out.
