Ha,its no longer an enigma.No longer puzzling in it's nature because it's a group that doesn't offer invations but Is a group of collective peoples that share a commonality.Therefore,unifying.
No matter what makes us "different",we may think we are unique and void of a cohort.Our antisocialistic view of blending in with society brings us that much closer together.
Think of it:
Serial Killers all share a group now matter how they kill their victims they all share an urge to kill.Whether it be voluntary or involuntary.

When I looked at it in that perspective,I saw countless parallels in mostly all groups.I dare you to point out one that doesn't make sense for as humans,we all share a common bond with at least one other person in this world.
