Post by: AWBrielle on February 23, 2011, 11:03:41 AM
Just wanted to hear your thoughts. Not sure if it's a real deal, but people there are pretty freaked out.

While the worries may be real & stemming from real sightings this pic has the air of a hoax about it. Since it seems to be a fairly close shot why is the "gnome" so blurred while the surroundings are pretty clear plus their seems to be a light source that is conveniently illuminating just enough to give the outline but doesn't highlight any features.

I remember this video when it was in the news. The reaction of the kids filming it seems genuine and the sideways skips of the creature follows gnome folklore that they don't have knees and in order to move quickly they must skip sideways. This video scares the hell out my fiance.

I thought about that, at first, but with what Angelus said...

It seems to me like it's a possibility. @Angelus - I don't blame her. Most people would be.

Man, that'll be the day.  :gun: haha.

I think you have to negotiate with it. Politely ask it to move and offer it some form of compensation, maybe suggest a new place for it to stay - a better one. At least if you don't want more trouble than you can handle. LOL

Right on. The approach would be what needs to be figured out, though, yes?

lol and that's when it gets it cute little axe and just cut away at your shin while you negotiate with it

I'd say that if you just greet it POLITELY..... and behave in a civil manner..... you should be able to strike some kind of deal. As long as you show respect, the gnome will likely do the same. They are - after all - much like us in many ways.

lol true

My goal for the year: 1. find gnome  2. make friends with it  3. get it drunk .  Why? Well can you imagine anything cooler than having a drunk little gnome to hang out with?

Lol! We would start out with one gnome and one leprechaun and prety soon the rumer of free beer would spread and we would have a whole clan of each in the front yard. May be hard to explain to the neibors!

Has anyone heard any follow-up info? Unfortunately, the servers here keep filtering out the news for some reason. Not sure what's up.

Well, of course, silly. There are wood gnomes, dune gnomes, farm gnomes, house gnomes ( or maybe it's a home gnome), and garden gnomes.  Then there's the Siberian gnome which, in truth, is the only one I can tell from the others because they wear woolly coats.
