The objects, now described as a few hundred kilometers in size, and “beyond the orbit of Pluto”, were apparently discovered by SETI using the HAARP radio array.  To begin with, the HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) instrument is located in Alaska.  The position of the three “incoming” objects is given as -90 degrees declination – or the south celestial pole.  Anyone versed in even elementary geometry can recognize that you can’t see this part of the sky from Alaska!  In addition, and of clear import, neither the SETI Institute nor any other SETI project makes use of HAARP.

Now I am an ignorant civilian for questioning SETI here, but doesn't the earth move? I am pretty sure that the earth rotates and that Alaska is on the earth. So if the earth rotates with Alaska on it, maybe Alaska moves too? (very slowly)

Then I have the problem of HAARP being used to distinguish items in space. I doubt high frequencies or any sound travel through space. (or if they did, would anyone be around to hear it?, similar to if a tree falls in the woods...)
Or if the frequencies are light based (which would make more sense) then why do we have this HAARP thing again? Do we not have the big telescopes and other facilities? I would like to hear a clear statement on HAARP's application for space interpretation. Was HAARP at Alaska used to determine the -90 degrees or was that something else? If it wasn't HAARP, then why is it necessary? We are aware of the objects, what is HAARP going to do? Also if HAARP is that useful should we not have more then one facility for crap like this? If it is in the wrong place, go to a different facility and use that one.

So as of now, I remain skeptical.

I feel like I am missing something major here (in my statement) and I'll be found incorrect. (I think I have said something stupid, but I am unable to locate my fault)

But this is my opinion and I enjoy this chance to learn.

Do you not understand that radio waves do in fact travel through space, and are perfectly capable of transporting sound?

Good point, but i dont think no one with sound mind really believes that HAARP is being used for Space observation. Isnt it a bit weird that every time a huge earthquake and/or tsunami happens, HAARP is being VERY active?

Well I'm not well versed on radio waves in space (clueless  ). So the fact they can carry sound with them sounds plausible, I am willing to accept that as a possibility. But I would still like the government to give a clear statement, on what HAARP is for.

So let's say these are radio waves being omitted from HAARP. These waves cannot be used to distinguish the items in space that we already know are there. Because Alaska is in the wrong position. So assuming we have no other facilities like HAARP and no other country has one either, then what do we do now?

What can HAARP do that no other device can, for this purpose?

What DOES HAARP do in the first place?

I'm still skeptical, I do not know much about space, radio waves or space observation. So this is just coming from an unbiased, ignorant civilian. 
I think with my ignorance I either don't understand, or I'm too skeptical to get it.

But again I look forward to learning something.

Besides, for seeing the unseen in space, what astronomers use is infrared....

If they're actually spaceships, and If they're hostile, wouldn't they cloak themselves or something?
I know it sounds like star-trek, but if they can get here, then they should be able to conceal themselves somehow?

After watching an episode of the show Curiosity, I'm convinced that if aliens make a play for earth, it won't be with giant lasers and battleships.
First, take down our communication satellites with EMP generators, them wipe out coastal cities with high-kinetic attacks into the oceans.
Last, create an engineered virus to wipe out the last trace's of humanity.

They cloak. That is why all this recent videos of UFOs all around the world seem a bit suspicious to me.

 Viruses... hm, it would be tricky to play that card, cause of a simple reason, if they came all the way to here, that would be cause this planet suits them. Release a virus (a living organism), and you will never be safe from its next generations. True, they could hold a cure, but viruses adapt, change...

But again, Nina's right on it, viruses evolve. Just because they 'design' it to target humans, doesn't mean they would be immune.

True, you can make a virus to target the species, but think of this: If Earth atmosphere and all is good for them, we can freely asume that they are (logically) made very much like we are. Organic, carbon based... once you release the thing it takes life of its own. Maybe a nano-virus could do it, but still, give something thats alive a sort of intelligence... hmmm 

If I was an alien  Id play wiser. Wont write about that here though, they might be watching

The virus can evolve, living things, even viruses are to unpredictable, that's why it is hard to predict cancer after all, but your right, if they go through the trouble of taking over, they wouldn't destroy what they're trying to take.
