Being that this is a ghost "hunting" sub-forum... I'm guessing that very few of you here can naturally see spirits. But if there is anyone here who is able to, please come forward. I'd really love to know that there are people out there with the same talent as me.

I can "see" spirits. I don't like it so I just blast music, read, and cleanse the area I am at, or try to ignor it. I don't like to see them because they will follow me around and my Mom will get pissed about that because I worry about it so much and then she is the one left to deal with it. I don't know how she gets rid of them... I should ask her. My older brother says he can see them but he just wants attention. On here I can talk about it but in public or to friends I can't cause it freaks them out too much. Also I have a problem attracking darker entities thats why I stay away from spirits cause if they know you can see them they wont leave you alone unless you are trying to get attention which is one thing I DON'T WANT! I haven't had any recent problems with them cause I ignor them. I just don't like the feeling of them they make me uneasy...

Did you know there are ways to meditate that make your energy pattern disappear to them? It's what I do. I can still see them, but they don't seem to realize it. And I know what you mean about attracting darker entities... I had some fun run ins when I was little.

I see spirits but now I can hide me shade form and not even a psychic can see me

I can see them and sense them anywhere and everywhere I go. I don't block them out because I like it. I mean.. it's a gift.. embrace it.

I don't see them - sometimes I feel them, their presence, those random... presences. I don't know if it's astral projection or the spirit of the departed or anything at all.

Hi - I am new - this sort of thing is kinda my area - altho I will never claim to be an expert - dont believe there is any such thing.
If something wants to contact you it will. Most people who tend to reject their abilities will suffer from other issues down the line. It is often best to at least accept and come to terms with your abilities.
Managing your enery is KEY. Once you can claim your space and truly own yourself and the energy that you project, you can call them in or send them away. I also tell people who are having a hard time managing what comes and goes to imagine themselves as a very bright lighthouse on a very dark coastline. Their light attracts those who need help in some way shape or form. And remember, for the most part, these energies or ghosts (whatever you prefer to call them) were once people, so treat them as such. If you REALLY dont want to use this gift, then you need to harness your energy, and with that put the vibe out that you are not available. Most will respect it.
These are abilities that can be controlled and refined or accepted and not used. But you HAVE to make that choice and do something to deal with it...otherwise you will struggle until you do.

I have seen a few things that could be considered "ghosts" or "spirits" but mostly just felt their presence. If I close my eyes, go in the dark, and concentrate, I can make a vivid mental image of their energy signature. Its not a defined physical form in the snese we know it, but kind of like a multicolored cloud of ever changing energy. It moves and "breathes" and has independent thoughts. theres alot more to the spirit world than we will ever know. The maifestations in this world are but a tiny glimpse through a little peephole.

Yes, I can see spirits quite well.
In fact, my favorite spirit to see is a freshly-tapped cask of Aberfeldy Single Malt, though McClelland will do in a pinch :D

Wyson, I wasn't stating that she should shun her gift. I was stating that is she's uncomfortable with it then she should find a way to go undetected until she can cope with interacting. When it starts it's disturbing enough to see, but to be interacted with can drive a person over the edge of reason.
Terror... *shakes head* You remind me of someone I know. If they don't want to be seen by "average" people, they usually aren't seen. But people with the sight would normally be able to see them no matter what. And one who's strong enough would be able to feel their presence, even if they tried to conceal themselves.

Mr.Kreepy... I see that spirit on special occasions. =P Like after rugby games.

I always see them in good health, relatively speaking.
They are drawn to me as well...often I dream of them.

A spirit looks about 30 walking around like its happy
but a ghost.....It died from bleeding to death from a cut off arm...You see it and it doesnt have an arm, and it is sad and morning.

No I am not James and I have Terra, Dae, Vivid, And redeyes to confirm that cause I have told them who I was. plus I wouldnt abide by a were council. Even my council I dont, cause they said me hurting a guys tring to rape a girl was bad just cause I hurt the guy. I think I did right.

I can see them sometimes they are more blurry I guess is the appropriate term. Mainly I hear them and it freaks me out. I have learned how to ignore them and to live out my normal life. I do think its good to imbrace it but its just when I attrack other things besides ghosts that is the dangerous part. I just don't want to mess with it. I have bad experiences with ghosts and demons (well if that what they really are I sometimes can't really tell but when i researched it thats what it said it was). I haven't seen ghosts in a while though sometimes i hear them and just plug in my headphones because I don't have time in my life right now to have them bugging me. If I wanted to really experience it I would go ghost hunting with my buddies becuase they are professonals. I said I would someday with them but I am trying to find a more scientific explanation for it.

for someone that is new you seem pretty insightful ...
I have been a member of many forums for several years and you would be shocked at just how many self professed "experts" there are out there ...and since there is no recognized and accredited criteria to define such, as you have stated: there is no such thing ....
but yes many of us seem to have this ability yet prefer to suppress it as most of us that really do considered it a curse before it became a part of current pop culture.....b :-)

I've been seeing spirits & ghosts for as long as I can remember. I learned to block out the ones that were near where I lived or places I visited often, like they became just part of the scenery. But once I moved for boarding school it came roaring back with a vengence. I'd agree with Rave, try learning how to protect or shield yourself from the images until you feel emotionally, mentally, & physically ready.

To my regret I can not. My wife and son have both witnessed strange phenomenon, both in my presence and when they are alone, but I as of yet have not. They will however recount events that happen when I am actively looking for evidence, such as doors opening/closing behind me, objects floating when I look else where, faucets comming on by themselves, lights flickering on and off, ect... I've long ago written it off as mischeviouse spirits that either A. follow me and are harmless or B. I just get lucky enough to find em where ever I go. Again I have never seen spirits, but I do feel something (cool spots, being watched, a faint touch as I enter a room) but not yet seen anything. I am waiting though for I feel my will is strong enough to both handle the experience and to attempt communication.

I see shadows, sometimes they take the form of something recognizable. They don't frighten me, and i'm working on when i see them not to look dircetly at them, cuz well they disappear.

The one ghost I see in particular, I see as he was just before he died. He wants me because he knows I can free the girl he murdered and damn him. He doesn't have what it takes to conquer me and I can't name what it is inside me that allows me to deal with the dead and demons... I just know they don't f#ck with me when I say they can't.

I can still feel their power... but it in no way effects me. I can feel it pushing at me.. like wind. But for some reason, there's nothing they can do to me.

I can kinda see them, but with me it is more of a feeling. Like ill sit in a room and can feel different temperature changes and what not. i can feel different things, like ill get a cold chill in a warm room. I've learned to live with it. Im 19 and have really no issues with it. i have been working with demons and spirits for about two years. If you need help let me know.
