2012- Metaphysical predictions

2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or apocalypse). Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.

Accordingly, several eclectic authors claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012:

    * The 1995 book The Mayan Prophecies linked the Maya calendar with long-period sunspot cycles.
    * The book 2012: Mayan Year of Destiny claims the Maya may have been instructed in their wisdom by disembodied entities from Orion and the Pleiades. Contact was maintained through shamanic rituals conducted in accordance with the movements of planets and stars. However, some Mayan priests living and working in Guatemala assert that there is no legitimacy to this theory.
    * The 1997 book The Bible Code claims that, according to certain algorithms of the Bible code, a meteor, asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth.
    * The book The Nostradamus Code speaks of a series of natural disasters caused by a comet (possibly as above) that will allow the third Antichrist to disperse his troops around the globe under the guise of aid in preparation for a possible nuclear war, although in the strictest sense it is unspecific as to nuclear war or some other natural or man caused destruction.
    * The book The Orion Prophecy claims that the Earth's magnetic field will reverse.
    * The 2005 book Beyond 2012: Catastrophe or Ecstasy by Geoff Stray reviews several theories, prophecies and predictions concerning 2012 and finds where authors have used faulty information or have bent the truth to fit their theories.
    * The 2006 book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck discusses theories of a possible global awakening to psychic connection by the year 2012, creating a noosphere.
    * The 2007 book Apocalypse 2012: A Scientific Investigation into Civilization's End by Lawrence Joseph does not make any specific new predictions, but it reviews a number of 2012 predictions made by various sources, and presents arguments for the possible existence of dangerous positive feedback loops involving solar storms, Earth's magnetic field, cosmic rays, hurricanes, global warming, earthquakes, and supervolcanoes that may be on the verge of erupting.

Other prophecies and apocalyptic writings and hypotheses for this year include:

    * Terence McKenna's mathematical novelty theory suggests a point of singularity in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness.
    * Some proponents of a peak oil catastrophe place major events in 2012. Richard C. Duncan's book The Peak of World Oil Production and the Road To The Olduvai Gorge claims that the Olduvai cliff will begin and permanent blackouts will occur worldwide. Several studies predict a peak in oil production in or around 2012.

Actually this makes sense, the comet Wormwood is actually predicted in that passage in the Bible. Wormwood is about the same diameter at Saturn, but unlike Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto… the lighter gas planets… Wormwood is basically an iron oxide ball.  So with the size of Saturn and the heavy mass of iron oxide, Wormwood is about 60 times Jupiter’s mass.  Jupiter weighs in about 318 times the mass of Earth so imagine a solar body that heavy and you have the second heaviest body in the solar system next to the Sun itself.   

The planets out to Neptune orbit the Sun in the flat “ecliptic plane”.  Pluto is offset a little bit so its orbital plane is at a slight angle to the ecliptic plane of the other planets.  Wormwood’s orbit is at 900 to the ecliptic plane… a very long ellipse with its perihelion arcing over the Sun and its aphelion way out in deep space on the Southern side of the ecliptic plane.  It heads out to deep space for 1800 years and then turns around and comes back toward the sun for the next 1800 years… 3600 years total (average). 

It is approaching us now from the south side of the ecliptic plane.  It will move inward on its perihelion arc and come up through the solar system between the orbital circle of Jupiter and the outside of the asteroid belt.  It will cross the ecliptic plane next year… probably in April or May… possibly as late as June.  It will come up through the July midnight sky… when the Earth is facing the general direction of Sagittarius.  It will arc up over the Sun and come back down through the ecliptic plane again in the December midnight sky… facing Perseus… again between the asteroid belt and the orbital circle of Jupiter.  Then it will head back into the southern sky toward deep space for the next 3600 years.

It is so heavy that it can torque the lithosphere of the Earth right over on its side.  It can be extremely destructive depending on how close it is when it crosses the ecliptic plane. 
 
Wormwood’s return was prophesied in the Revelation.  It corresponds to some of the events in chapter 6, 7, 8 and 16… inbound and outbound passes.  When it comes through the solar system it can be very destructive.  It looks like it will be very destructive on the current visit.

""And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of the waters; and the name of the star is called wormwood; and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter."

In the first quarter of 2001, the Sun switched magnetic poles. In 2012 these two poles will rotate again. The Sun operates on an 11-year cycle, alternating between active and quiet periods. We are currently in a quiet period, with few sunspots on the sun's surface and fewer solar flares, though the next cycle of activity has begun.

It is expected to peak around 2012, bringing lots of sunspots, flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). CMEs can interact with the Earth's magnetosphere, causing problems for satellites, communications, and power grids.

This upcoming active period now looks like it will be more intense than the previous one, which peaked around 2006, some scientists think. The reason is the changes in the sun's alignment.

During the last peak, solar fields hitting the Earth were first anti-aligned then aligned. Anti-aligned fields can energize particles, but in this case, the energy came before the particles themselves, which doesn't create much of a fuss in terms of geomagnetic storms and disruptions.

But the next cycle will see aligned, then anti-aligned fields, in theory amplifying the effects of the storms as they hit.

 Coupled with wormwood affecting the magnetic polarity further and generally pulling everything out of allignment. It's predicted these solarflares will be even bigger and that this will drastically disturb things on earth if not destroying the planet completely.

Thankyou, the information that got me onto it came from basically all of the sources you listed. So glad to know I'm not the only one going insane thinking the world will end in 4 years. 

You sure aint alone there, pal.... but dont be surprised if someone notices your tinfoil hat got loose (all in fun, of course)  I know, happened to me once or twice, lol!

You know I was on /z/ lately and I don't think this is something you could really prepare for as it's happening on a planetary level and if solar flares that large hit earth (it's been predicted that the area around the city of New York will be the most affected) we're going to 'fry' no matter what we do really or a good number of us will 'fry' and that will send the rest of the worlds governments into an uproar most likely.

So in the case of another world war but with drastically upgraded weapons (which would happen if the governments went into an upraor) I'd say move under ground or as I live in Australia into the bush and just keep on going, which is probably what I would if any world threatening event happened.   

But that's just me and my pessimistic (the safest place is the most solitary) mind set

The 2012 predicament may not be the end of days as we know it, but the end of our way of life. Or it will be radnorock and fenris's children will swallow the moon and sun. Or our sun will swallow the earth, because like it or not our sun is not the hottest star out there

Jupiter is actually a failed star...well what if Jupiter is gaining mass and such and it ignites in 2012 becoming another star? Our planet would burn up. 

Has anyone got any useful predictions about stuff like shareprices, or things we can actually use to enhance our short and meagre lives?

Ive heard for a stuff called monatomic gold or something like that. Its actually what alchemists from the dark ages were trying to get. Its weights much less than gold, but helps the cells to reorganize in a proper way. Heals cancer and opens chakras. Did you mean something like that oldbill?

Ah, my chemistry class has followed me home....sorta. We just began our chapter that includes monoatomic ions.

An interesting thing to be mentioned is that monoatomic gold is a neurotoxin that causes peripheral neuropathy. In simpler terms, it destroys the nervous system. Not nice stuff.

Mountains ladies and gentlemen.  I myself am here in the moutain ranges of WY for this very reason.  There are bunkers and caves all through here, which would give a slightly increased chance of survival.
