Theoretically, it is very simple.
Stage 1: Complete a rigorous program encompassing Jewish law and responsa. Learn the Talmud, Rishonim and Acharonim, the Shulkhan Arukh (codified Jewish law) and its main commentaries, eventually becoming ordained as a Rabbi. (This may take a while.)
Stage 2: Create your man shaped creature out of mud and clay.
Stage 3: Inscribe a clay tablet with אהיה אשר אהיה and place it under its tongue
Stage 4: Inscribe its forehead with אמת
Stage 5: Recite the following following document in its entireity without error: DOCUMENT HERE

Hey presto! One golem ready to do your bidding until deactivated.

(That last bit is quite important - make sure you know how to deactivate it QUICKLY - they can be quite... troublesome.)

well, now we know why just not everyone can have a pet golem running around.

Thanks viper, I heard that you can activate by putting one of the names of god on its forehead. :|
Guess not, but I hear that the drawbacks to using these things are that they may turn on you if you dont do the spell exactly right, and they will kill anybody that gets in the way of their masters orders.
I think I may wait to try to make one of these buggers.

Think I could make one out of store bought clay? Like play doh or some other brand like that? I dunno about any clay deposits near my house.

What is the correct language set to read the page ? Hebrew Windows ?

I cant read hebrew, so it would be nice.
Especially the document. :-P

Also... before I go and make one o these things, has anybody had any personal exsperience? i mean have you guys ever made one?
And can i just make a small one to start with? Like just 1 foot tall? :|

why would you want to?

what would be the point of having some clay man running around, mindlessly entertaining you, not to mention if the secret ever got out...people would be paying you for the secret, the controversy that would ensue, the proof of magic working that several people have offered money for...if fame and fortune is your goal, i guess i can understand.

what else would it be used for?
