Picture this: You discover, at this very moment, that some extreme breakout of an epidemic zombification virus takes place tomorrow. Soon the whole continent will be knee-deep with cannibalistic undead people, and your only objective is to survive.
Look where you are. What do you have to survive, if it was tomorrow? What would you do?
Where would you go?

Well, being as today is Friday and that is the day I restock, I would buy a rather larger amount of extra supplies, grab my sniper rifle from out of the closet, and head to my second house. Since my second house is in the middle of no-where, and well stocked with all sorts of weapons, I would only have to worry about running out of supplies. (Yes, this is what I would actually do. Yes, I do have a second house in the middle of no-where. Yes it is stocked with weapons, but all sharp and pointy; good thing I keep a bow there.)

I forgot to mention I would have to grab at least my doumbek and mandolin. The set can stay at home.

What type of machetes are they? The standard machete, or the German type that is a few feet long, anyone remember the name of it?

They're pretty long, without handles. That's all I know, he said they're made in China. But everything is nowadays. Lmao, my younger sis calls them "swords" *<:)

Well, I have several guns, a bunch of food, and basic supplies saved up in case this happens, or any other survival situation. World War III, hostile takeover of the country, natural disaster, etc.
First thing I'd do is go out and round up my girlfriend and my closest friends. Then I'd board up my house and garage, making sure nothing could get in at all. Then, with materials I've saved up for this just in case, armor up my truck, cover the bed and turn it into a shooting platform, attack these awesome armor screens that roll up like window blinds to the insides of my window, and plate every outside surface with extra sheets of metal I've kept. With help from my friends and girlfriend this would take about a day. I would have some of my tougher friends standing watch throughout the house.
After I turned the truck into a near-invicible killing machine, I'd work on fortifying the house better.
After deciding what to do, I'd drive out to my friend's custom body shop, get some panes of bullet-proof laminated glass, and spend the next few days installing those into the car.
After all of this is done, we'd probably head down to Mexico, because all the stupid people would go north and zombies would follow.
After that it's just getting drunk as fark, naked sunbathing on the beach, and hot orgies with all my gorgeous friends.
If you question how I will manage to do all this, I'll be doing lines of amphetamines constantly to keep me going.

I'm stuck out in the middle of nowhere in Nevada. None of that s**t around for miles. A barn house or two might be good use in surviving if I pull up the ladders from the inside, but the zombies can just feed off of all the farm animals, so it's not like I can wait them out or anything. :|

Until now some of you have forgotten the important and basic parts of survival. First thing I'd carry batteries, flashlights, food and bottled water supplies in a backpack and objects like knives and lighters close at hand, unfortunately you'll never know if you'll need them or not.
For one I would be making a beeline for a store and breaking in to get weapons right at the beginning of the apocalypse, if there was a way, for all I have in possession that I could use against them is a chainsaw; which is what I'll use to get more chances to arrive for the guns. Handling guns and defending yourself is a tough job if you've never learned how, therefore decreasing the probability of your survival. Where I'd be heading - once the town were infested with flesh-eating corpses - is to the mansions. Nearby there's a bunch of mansions, here in Florida in view of the beach, and luckily I'd be safe inside one for the time being - thanks for my tree/gate climbing ability. (If the damned gate is locked, of course.)
Plan B would be taking a yacht/boat to a near island, where the number of infected citizens would be less. Or else seek refuge for buildings until some rescue arrives but I feel the danger would be greater, especially if I was on my own.
For how long I'd last? Until I die from the lack of food, baby.

I saw this movie where everybody said that the only safe place is this island. So they all get there, but the camera records them all getting eaten by starving zombies anyways!!! *<:)

Because they are zombies because of a virus, and there's no point in a virus spreading itself to a host already infected with the virus.

You're talking about Dawn of the Dead, oddly enough, I giggled throughout half the movie, and I love the background music! Well there aren't much people in the local islands... I would hope not, lol

What if the zombies are like in Legend? Where they are harmed by sunlight/UV rays?

Zombies harmed by UV rays makes it more unlikely and supernatural than it already is, but in that case it's much easier - if those guys weren't so tough.
My view on zombies is that they're infected with something that'll make them slower and weaker, yet deadly in when they walk in large amounts.

Hmmm... what would I do?
Hide in the house with as much ammo as I could find and play "how many head shots can I make". Damn, I love head shots. So satisfying.

Ah yes the head shots. I love how a head shot can be the perfect hole in the head, or a ballistic disaster. Reminds me of my older days.

I'm sure I would survive unless the boredom got to me. I have enugh equipment and weapons to hold me over and I can survive quite well in the wilderness. But boredom is my main enemy, and I'm sure I'll keep venturing out to kill some zombies and get in over my head :roll: As for if I was where I am right now, I would just go so far out in the desert that they would die of starvation before they ever reached me, theres alot of empty desert out here. If I were somewhere else, I'd hit the woods. I can be quite the woodland assasin there :wink: Bring it on baby :gun: Bring it on :gun: Oh and I won't be needing guns. Guns require ammo. I'm much better with my own traps and swords, hell even my hands. I am pretty sure if I wanted to I could literally rip a head off
