We've been discussing the possibility of a zombie apocalypse in a number of topics before. But one thing we haven't discussed (I think) is what geographic location we would prefer to be at if the dead start to rise from their graves.
It may sound a bit biased, but I would very much prefer to be somewhere in Sweden. These are the main reasons for my choice:
A) Not many people live here. Giving you plenty of possibilities to create your own sanctuary away from others.
B) Most people opt to be cremated when they're dead. Meaning that there are actually not many corpses that can rise from their graves and attack the living.
So
. where would you like to be in case of a zombie attack?
And I don't need you to give away the exact location
. just a general idea of where and more important why.

A place like New Zealand (don't know if it's spelled right): it has a nice comfortable climate, but there are vast open spaces that aren't inhabited.
Though Sweden norway or finland would definitly be my 2nd choice for this is closer to my home, but Sweden has it's nasty habit of being very terribly cold during automn and winter... and I hate cold oO
anyway my reasons are:
1) Large uninhabited areas
2) better climate

I would like to be out of the country in a remote area like a big island. I would put 10 foot barb wire all around and anyone who climbs up will be killed. There will be signs stating a warning before this happens. If you find me cruel well I take no chances and will repopulate the earth with my chosen companions if I have too but no more people in this group (except offspring).
The climate matters little to me all I care about is finding somewhere isolated and away from people.

Somewhere with a low population in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Hunting & fishing is good & I know enough about the edible plants to live well.;}

I would like to be some where in the mid west. In a log cabin with an arsenal of weapons and a survival manual. Not to leave out my other half who has a love for weapons of any kind and he likes to hunt.
And my sons who say "always double tap" :-D

I am in agreement with Matthew, in fact I have the perfect place picked out. Mat I will P.M. the site, infact, you should be within 3-4 hours of it.

This is being discussed via P.M. I do like the location. It so so perfect because of its flaws. They are what I would call acceptable flaws that can be made up for. Since we always strive for perfection and never obtain it this is close enough.
I am about 6 hours away from it but dammit if a pandemic arizes I can make it in two hours. Screw the damn speed limit! :gun:

It's not a matter of hunkering down until the government solves the problem or it just get away(like night of the living dead) It's a matter of getting me and my people as far away from major population centres as possible and thriving in a new order. May have to kill a few zombies, probably have to fight off other survivors (but hopefully we can unite with some of them)

AEUBERTI what if the government is the problem? What would you do if the government is responsible in some way for the zombie pandemic? What kind of solving would you expect from politicians now days? All I have seen them do is avoid taking a stance and jump head first into a pool of money. They will run and the problem will not be solved.
If the government is going to solve the problem then why run away? Why fight off other survivors if the government has it covered?
Don't depend on the government, depend on you and your bullets.

Why do you think I said Don't Wait for the Government to solve the problem. They would have either caused it or be too busy covering their own furry butts to do us any good. Get out and start over.;}

I can understand wanting to be where there are less bodies, but it should be understood that even if the virus/infection/whatever it is could make it to a properly buried body, whats to say they actually make it out? God that was a long sentence, sorry people. The wilderness seems ideal, but personally I dont like having so much of my view cut off. And if an animal were to get infected, whats to stop it from making its way into the wilderness? Honestly, Id find somewhere a decent ways away from my small town. Load up on whatever supplies I can, and hope for the best. Even if the government is behind it and/or takes no action to stop it, Im sure there are enough bullets in the world to kill every last zombie.

I personally would stay in the major city I am in right now. Not only because of my family and friends but because I am already stockpiled on weapons, and if the zombies do take over I will be one of the first to go out there and blow them away.

I would go to Alaska or stay in my home.
Alaska: Cold and no one lives their
Home: middle of the forest, by a toen of a pop. of about 200 max people/others

I would prefer to be on a mountain somewhere in the middle of the US where no one resides. Or on a mountain period where it's cold and they can all freeze to death, however, if that's not possible. Then I would probably board up my house like it's hurricane season and defend it as much as possible.

I already live far out in the country, and have access to many weapons and my own isolated water source. So, I'd likely just run into town and steal a lifetime's supply of twinkees; those things NEVER go bad.

Moloch? Share? O___O I know he shares pearls of wisdom, but I doubt if there was a zombie apocalypse he'd share his food supply with us. But I'm a ninja! (mutters afraid of spiders...but that won't stop me!) lol :p However, Moloch himself might.... >_< I'll just stay away from the twinkies....

Hey, wait a minute....twinkees do go bad. I found that out first hand. If someone tells you it's been in the box in the pantry for a year and half...don't eat it. I told him twinkees don't go bad, and opened the box and took one out the packaging and bite into it and gagged. They were still sealed in plastic, so it's the filling that goes bad, after reading the ingredients, I saw that it's dairy based.

Ew, Id rather die than "live" off MREs. To hell with it, Ill just take over a few grocery stores. Save most canned goods for when the power gives, eat refrigerated items first.

Hmm, she doesnt seem to have realized that she has just revealed her location. Finding these MREs with cheesy jalapeno goodness may be easier than previously expected.

Just because I said I'd be on the island doesn't mean you'll find me easily. I just scared the living crap out of my mom by walking in front of her... :) Good luck finding me. Even when you find me good luck getting me to reveal my stash of food.. :p

Ve have ways of making you talk. But yeah, youve actually got the right idea. A Zombie Apocalypse would be the end, no coming back to a normal life. So spending the rest of it on a beach? Hells to the yeah.

Lol, a practically deserted beach too. I visited Guam once, and maybe saw 20 people all together... O_O so I wouldn't have to kill many. :)

Like I said, one hell of a plan. I can understand people wanting to go all wilderness, but we dont know if the zombie infection or virus or whatever would affect animals. I dont know about you, but I dont want to take the risk of a zombie bear attack.

Why is my group seem to be the one everyone wants to be in/ mooch off of? Everyone wants my weapons, my food, and now my bed.
I'm going to say MRE's are delicious, they are even better when you are starving and they are the only food you have. They can easily be divided into two meals. You then train your body to eat one meal or less every other day or longer. Your food will last you a long time and your metabolism will convert food into energy slower. That means your food goes longer and you survive better.
The MRE's also have gun powder based heating elements (at least the ones I have used do) they come with water resistant matches (not water proof until I get them to work under water, which has not happened)
The coffee creamer is also flammable and can be explosive as well. The bags in it are air tight and can be used to store water or other things.
That is why I choose MRE's as my survival food, easy to get, $8 for two meals (one bag can be split into two meals) they have an insane shelf life. Multiple uses and that is only a few I have mentioned.
One more thing is that I have heard the kool aid or fruit punch in them also makes excellent Windex. (one last note avoid the gum in those, it supposedly works as an laxative)
Now then my group is open to many members but if you don't follow the general opinion of the group, you will be sent out of it instantly. Possibly even killed if you are being dangerous.
Going against the general opinion of the group means doing things the group does not agree on because most of the group feels it will get them killed. Not dying is number one priority of the group, the second is survival. There is a difference.
